Got it! Might not be able to install it today though - it's rainy and 40 degrees here in MN. But I'll definitely make pics.

Hey guys I just finished installing the intake. Overall the intake is great, and it has impressive gains and very aggressive sound. The installation was very simple and it only took about an hour, the mounting bars are a bit off so it takes some jiggling to get it to match up but you'll get it. The intake is very high quality, and doesn't feel flimsy at all. The video I'm posting up doesn't really do the intake any justice, it sounds MUCH more aggressive then in the video. The gains are very noticeable and you'll def be satisfied with it. I would recommend this intake to anyone who hasn't got one yet!

Can you guys post a video while driving ? Free revving doesn't do an intake any justice, they sound much better under load.

Agreed.hood open with no load on the motor is ok but not what I want to hear.I opened mine up today and so glad I didn't. Get any other finish than the basic black color.its such a small tube any other finish would be a waste to me in this application. But that's just me.I really feel this car will need a new tune to take the advantage of the improved breathing.

I agree, under load it sounds differently - more aggressive. Me like !, I might try to capture the sound today. It is not that easy though - I don't want to do it with a phone, and my camcorder is quite big, but with a desent microphone. I might ask somebody for assistance for capturing the sound.
And a little offtopic - this morning I was driving (of course enjoying the sound ) and I noticed that on little display between speedometer and a tachometer it indicated not only usual outside temperature (37 BTW), but also a little "ICY!" icon. Was pleasantly surprised!

Means "Be aware of icy road conditions" . We have 36-37 degrees, extremely windy and a rain - perfect combo for the ice on the road

heres mine installed
for those with the stillen strut bar, you will need to cut some of the rubber on top of the tube to fit

with stillen stur bar(dont mind the paint peeling off, it all happen during the install and will be painting the strut bar again)

after i cut the rubber piece

.... for my review of the intake, nycxchunk pretty much says it all so no need to write it again

Thank you. Tried to go on a highway to capture a sound under load - the darn thing is too fast - reaching speed limit too soon. Will go again later on tonight.

Here is the sound of R2C CAI under load. First part - it's "manual" 1st gear, the second part - I tried to acceletare slowly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8igJUx7e2lI

Hope this will give you the impression how does it sound in real life.

Under load, meaning the engine is working. I give you credit for posting up vids, but intake sounds aren't like exhaust sounds, you can't hear them under light acceleration. You need to put the hammer down and let it breathe

Thank you for giving me credit. I take it first gear is not good enough for you. But what scenario do you expect me to execute? It ain't exactly legal to run the tallest gear on high RPM here in the city. Not for long at least. Have to go on the track for this and it's not in my plans.

The engine has to be pulling in lots of air to hear it. The vid you posted was more like holding a gear and speed, you can hear the motor, but not the intake. Do a 3/4 to full throttle pull, like 0-60, going up an on ramp to a highway. Of course I'm beig picky, but I'm sure others are thinking the same thing

Anyone know if the racingline strut bar clears the intake better than the stillen?

I'm pretty sure you will have to trim the rubber gasket regardless of what strut bar you have. It's really not a big deal.

If R2C sent me an intake to do a comparison review on like they said they were going to do when they were ready to drop the intake for the Maxima which I convinced them not to do that I would have an answer for you but they decided to not send me anything to review for them so I unfortunately don't have an answer for you..

I just ordered mine today. Went with the polished finish since my racingline fstb is polished. I will install it as soon as it gets to me so I will let everyone know how it fits with the racingling fstb when I am done unless someone else posts their results with it here first.

Huh? lol

I am sure trimming the heat shield gasket will do the trick for either bar.

Here's what mine sounds like with the Ypipe and Borla.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrkuG8AUrGg

After the first day I noticed a resanating sound as if i left a dime on my windshield along the wipers. Its like a buzz.Other than that this thing is very loud at WOT and high rpm.As you can see my RPM peak isn't like everyone I have seen.No real power gains seen yet.Hope to hit the track to see if it helped the drag times any. Most people who hear my car say it sounds like a stock CVT FX35.lol

Installed mine this weekend and I have the Racingline front strut bar. Hate to be a downer but you have to trim a lot more than the rubber gasket to get the bar back down over the box. I had to use a dremel cutting wheel and a file to get this thing to fit. Had to trim almost an inch down and all along the back panel of the box. But once done, a super nice tight fit. And when you look at it, it looks like the box was custom fit to the bar. I like it. Sounds great too.

Ah. Glad you chimed in. That really doesn't sound like too big a deal... So long as you have a dremel. lol

I'm quite happy seeing you guys pull through with this intake!
