So after MaxLoverAz mentioned the R2C Intake in the Fujita thread, I started doing my research and came to the conclusion that this would be the intake to get if it were available for the 7th gen.

I emailed Ed from R2C and this is a snippet of what he said:

I’d like to have a system available for the ’09 ASAP. The interest in the earlier Maxima has been extremely high. I haven’t had an opportunity to evaluate the new Maxima under hood. I imagine it’s considerably different.

Do you have an under hood photo? In your opinion, how popular would an intake be on these applications?

I sent him a photo and let him know that interest would be very high. These intakes look amazing and have alot of engineering put not only into the tubing, but also the filters. They really look superior to any other type of filter out there. Anyway, he is reviewing the photo and will keep me informed of any updates. Hopefully this will get the ball rolling for them.

Nice work man! Hell, give him a link to this thread so he can see how many units he'd be moving already!

I'm in 100% as I like what I've read as well.

Yeah I agree really nice work! We just need to find someone in the Chicago area with an 09 to "donate" for surgery if R2C decides it's worth the time and investment... I hope so!

I just emailed Ed per Annino's lead. We'll see where they're located and who ever's closer will take it. (Colnajoe or myself)

I should hear back shortly and post up their address.

Cheers for a quality CAI!

How'd it go? Who did you meet? Did you drop the car off or stay and watch them rip out the stock intake, do the scan (way cool how it's done), and put the stock intake back in?

Cool guys over there. I met Ed and Ron, talked CAD with them and saw their computer station. Good stuff.

I had to catch a flight so I didn't have much time, but I'm confident that this will be THE intake when the final production unit is released.

It'll take awhile. These guys do everything from scratch while everyone else just reverse engineers. Ideally they'd want some before/after dynos but with a CVT I'm not sure what they would do. I'd give them a few months.

I don't know much about the CVT but wouldn't they be able to dyno it in manual to get better results?

Yes if they hold it in 3rd gear that is a 1.11 ratio close enough to 1.1.

Precisely. These guys are perfectionists to say the least and won't disappoint.

They flow tested the stock unit to see where improvements can be made and assured me that the finished product will be well worth the wait.

Feel free to call Ed or Ron for release date info as that will also solidify it's demand.

I was actually looking at the Dyno Graph for an 04, and it seems its a 10-20 Hp increase. hopefully that will be the same for the 7th gen, I wish they made a 5.5 gen one.

I just received an email from R2C about thier intakes, this is what they replied

"We’re in the evaluation process for this application now. It will be after SEMA before we can begin production for the ’09 Maxima."

So it's gonna happen.....................

I'm on the "list"

There isn't one, but I think we should start one just to give them an idea on how many are interested. I went through the thread to piece together who would seriously be interested or not, and it's between 5 and 11 somewhere. If we start a list, we might be first.....you know what I'm sayin?
