go vinyl to try out the color you want, if you really like, then go find a spray.

Wait on it... Vinyl overlays are coming out for our car very shortly and I assume that there will be red overlays as well for the rear lights.

another option in addition to vinyl tint overlays, drop the yellow rear turn signal bulb and get a chrome bulb (they flash orange), which will mirror out the rear signal area. Then if you want, then get a tinted overlay for the red section

... I love the mirrored out (non-fried egg look) signal area, can't wait to get in my chrome bulbs To me, the front orange turn signal bulb is barely noticeable, likely due to it's "hidden" placement

Well KillaKam you are right. I found some vinyl pre-cuts from Lamin-X for the 09-10 Maximas. Right now they have four colors, gunmetal, smoke, charcoal, and red. Has anyone done business with them in the past?

Here's the link: http://www.lamin-x.com/ProductDetail...Show=TechSpecs

That looks like a pretty cool product but it is extremely pricey just for the rear lights. Bat's overlays are probably going to be between 40$ and 50$ which is a few dollars cheaper than what they are. As for the color choices I don't think that Bat is going to have RED and other colors just yet.

Check here to see what he will have (Pix aren't up yet as they just came out) and contact him if your interested and tell him Kamber sent you: http://forums.maxima.org/7th-generat...lays-here.html

Has anyone tried these? worth the money? pics? I just bought my first maxima 2010 and tinting the tail lights and all the windows, replacing all interior lights with led's, and a new grille is first on my list...

I am trying to decide between the Lamin-X kit or the BlueBatMobile kit.

Lamin-X - $59.99

BlueBatMobile $45.00

I like the BlueBatMobile kit because they come with a cutout for the clear portion of the tailight. Although I have read about extremely poor customer service, and haven't seen any pictures from them.

How difficult would it be to get the Lamin-X kit and do the cutout yourself? Has anyone tried this?

this is nice but if I get this I would only use it on the white part with a smoked out tint. if you have a black car this would look sweet cause you will have the black and red look

Personally I wouldn't bother with the tint overlays for the rear tail lamps. I'd go with a tinted clearcoat. Looks real slick; seen this on about 4 370Z's and the results are amazing.

Sidenote- if you live in Virginia, don't bother tinting the tails because you will FAIL your VA Safety Inspection upon arrival.

FYI I had my tails sprayed on another car, got a ticket, and luckily a body shop was able to sand it off and they still looked perfectly new afterwards. So spray is reversible.

I had my local paint shop apply a clear coat with a splatter of gray in the paint to my rear tail lights, brake light on the spoiler and turn signal markers on the mirrors. The look turn out better than I could've imagined. It's not too dark and in the day time looks like a dark burgundy light black color.

r-vinyl has some, but I'm not sure which ones would look the best on a white Max. There are 3 levels of tint, any suggestions?

I dont understand why tinted tailights is illegal when you have a 3rd brake light that is bright as hell

+1.

Wanted to tint mine myself until I saw a few who had just the red part tinted - looks dope!! Feel like it would take some precision to cut that, that I don't have..

Anyone do their tints themselves and cut the piece out for the white reverse lights? Curious if you cut it first or after applying to the headlight. I'd trace and cut first but I feel like I'll need to use a heat gun or somethin to shape the piece to the housing and it won't fit exactly. Also don't want to damage the housing if I cut while the tint is on the light.

use trace paper to copy the outline to then just cut the tint on a table with the outline over it not hard to do at all.

Sorry for the super late reply, but I have headlights and taillight tints from bluebatmobile on my car, I posted them on the forums a while back, I can repost pics here if you would like. I have gtr style front overlays, and double layered rear light tints. I have a dark layer on top of a light layer on my taillights and the less are still super bright and clear!

On Friday I ordered the headlight/fog light covers, tail light covers and the 3rd brake light cover in the gunsmoke tint from Lamin-X. Can’t wait to get them in and get them on.

Found out bluebatmobile sells the tail light overlay with the turn signal/reverse light pre-cut out. Went ahead and ordered that with the matching spoiler light tint and gonna install soon and post pics.

Please do! I was thinking of doing the same thing as it's super expensive here to get your tails tinted ($180+)

They use frog/painter's tape to get clean lines leaving the reverse/turn signal light clear I'm guessing? That looks nice. How'd they do yours, a few coats of tinted clear coat?
