2010 Handset Phonebook
2010 Handset Phonebook
Just purchased my 2010 Maxima with Sport and Tech package. I synced up my HTC Touch Pro and my Handset Phonebook was downloaded. It displayed exactly like it is in my phone which is Last Name, First Name. However, when entering the car a day later and my phone auto-connecting, my phonebook was now showing First Name, Last Name. I did not make any changes to my phone prior to getting back into my car that day and still have not. However, my phonebook has since gone back to Last Name, First Name. I really would prefer First Name, Last Name. Does anyone know why this happened or how to change it back and forth?
As a follow-up to this, I reordered my contact list in my phone by First Name, Last Name. I then deleted the partnership on my phone and in the car and repaired. After the initial download of the phonebook, my contact list was still Last Name, First Name in the car. There has to be a setting somewhere that is controlling this.
Obviously, there is, though it may not be available to users! (I haven't seen it but then, I use voice tags.) You may want to contact Nissan Directly for this and report their solution back to the group. Perhaps there is a secret "display order" some may want to use.
After sending my question regarding contact sorting to Nissan, this is the message that I received. I guess when I get a chance I'll call the hotline.

This just gets more fun by the minute. We went in and upgraded her Nokia that was listed as incompatible. We got a new LG Chocolate Touch which just came out. Of course it isn't listed on the Nissan website. The model is a VS8575. So, I look up the instructions for a VS8550 and of course it says you can't download your entire phonebook, just individual entries. However, on the VX8500 you can't download anything. So I guess I will just try and if it fails, wait until Nissan gets around to testing the new phone. What PITA.
yes suck
What type of Bluetooth does Verizon use? And...
are there any new Verizon phones that are able to download Phone book contacts to Nissan vehicles ?
PS did a search
evidently Nissan knows there are problems Verizon is of little help

This varies by phone. Check the specs for your phone to see if it supports the phone book access profile. If it does, there is a very good chance that your car can access the phone book on your phone. However, you will not be able to just download your entire phone book to your car at once. The system just does not work that way on the 2010 models at least.
Iphone 4 download
Just wondering if anyone has been able to download the handset phone book to their Maxima? I have a 2010 and when I do the download it says I should enter a PIN on my phone to download.. There is no option for a PIN for a download of the phonebook that I am aware of. I also have auto download turned on.. According to the compatibility link phonebook download is supported.. I have a Nav and the phone works great with bluetooth. No issues.

Thanks. There is only one PIN set when you pair the device. This seems to be some other PIN for syncing the address book. I never saw this in my Acura. Once it was paired all functions were active.. Will play some more and if I can't get it I will talk to the dealership when I am there for my rocking seat TSB repair..
