Call waiting???

When I am on my handsfree and I get an incoming call, it does not give me the option to click over. It simply sends the other call to my voicemail, its not the phone as I dont have this issue in my other cars. Does anyone else have this issue. I have a 2010.

Same here. It does not even display information regarding the incoming call.

I acutally never noticed, but will see if that happens in my 09. Personally, that is how I prefer mine to work (yeah, I have some strange notions of propriety in that I prefer to finish one conversation before starting another!) but will give it a go and report back.

Don't you normally hear a tone to indicate another incoming call? At which point I'd try touching the phone button on the steering wheel. Just a guess.

Ditto. With my old Infiniti M35, you at least got to see the other call, no go on the Max. It goes to voicemail and just registers as a missed call on my phone.

I would love to know how to handle call waiting on my 09 SV Premium. My 04 Acura TL 6MT allowed me to toggle between calls by simply hitting the answer button.

I could swear I have had call waiting work in my Max. Keep in mind though I am not so cool as this would happen on a normal basis but I almost positive I have done it. I am in an 09 if it makes a difference.

As promised, went and tried it in the driveway.

Scenario on My 09 Prem + Tech.
Using WM 6.1 Samsung Saga (Bluetooth V2)

While on a call and another call comes in, I hear the short "tone" and on my Nav screen at the bottom, a new selection appears that says "Switch Call" I can either use the Left Drivers Selector to scroll down and enter or reach over and select via touch-screen. Both work well...the only issue I see is that it won't let me switch back unless I hang-up on the second-call (of course I haven't figured out how to do that on my phone either.)

I'm going to try again from my car sitting in the driveway tomorrow. I am almost positive I have never seen a "Switch Call" button but I will check to be sure.

I'm glad to know that this is not an issue with my phone since it's on the not recommended list. That being said, this is crazy. How in the world can they remove such a basic feature in the process of upgrading the infotainment system?

If there was a way to trade you so I could get the Weather Radar in lieu of the call waiting, I would gladly make the trade! Granted it does seem a bit obtuse to remove this feature..especially as it exists in the 09.

I'd have to pass on that deal. I'm just hoping there will be some upgrade or another that will bring call waiting back. I am not holding my breath though.

The resolution is the 2009 Maximas can do call waiting but the 2010 Maximas cannot.

I did not get it but it supposed to apply to 2010 models also based on what I was able to Google. Could you scan and post a copy?

Won't be able to do that for awhile Boone, but all it says is that it's a complimentary software upgrade and I should simply contact my dealership.

I'm not su the feature will be all that useful for me, but I do wonder if it will include any other bug fixes or upgrades for the OS. Then, again, "upgrades" are not always for the better...

Give yours a call. If I go through with it I will come back to report.

Thanks for the info. I thought there may be more in the letter. Don't worry about the scan.

This past week I received an postcard from Nissan about updating the software to enable call waiting - just call your dealer.

Had the update applied last week. Works fine now. You get a new option when on a call to switch over to the incoming call. 2011's probably have the update applied already from the factory. It's a simple thing and it's stupid that it didn't have it to begin with. The recall notice phrased it as if Nissan was doing us a favor by adding the feature because there wasn't anything wrong really. No call waiting - c'mon there IS something wrong with that.

I have an 11 with a Aug 10 build date and I received the card. So they must have made the change mid production.

Wouldn't it go to voicemail after a few rings anyway?

Nissan has a solution!

Hi All:

Just curious if anyone else received a mailer from Nissan yesterday regarding software update for call waiting feature re-program.
I received one yesterday and it stated that since so many of us have complained about it, Nissan is going to offer an update on the software that will enable "true" call-waiting feature on our systems. It states that it will be a free dealer upgrade for anyone that chooses to have it installed.

My list of things for the dealer to work on seems to get longer and longer

Nav Software Update Applied

I had the call waiting update applied this morning. My software version before update was X1U52008 and afterwards is showing X1U62025. Map version did not change and is still 09-10 MAP No.1b.

You can check Nav version via the INFO button.

I can confirm it works good here in Atlanta with the iPhone 4. I switched back and forth several times between calls and tested hold / mute functions and all seem to be working fine.

I have a 2011 with SV Premium and Tech.

I had my first call yesterday when I was on another call. I heard a beep. Looked at my phone and it showed an incoming call. I did see the button on the Maxima screen saying switch call.

Is this all there is? The screen doesn't tell you who is calling?

Its not the worst think in the world I guess, but I usually leave my phone out of the way. I'd rather do and see everything on the Nissan screen.
