It sad to see, but when you drive like an idiot in many case you dont have a second chance. All this could have been avoided so it's hard to have compassion for the guy.

I just read the article for this accident, and apparently the engine was thrown from the car upon impact. That's some serious speed to be able to do that. It was probably LIGHTS OUT for that dude the very second he made contact with that tree. R.I.P.

Fatal accident on Deegan

By Maria Clark

A man died yesterday afternoon in a fatal car accident just north of the Van Cortlandt exit on the Major Deegan Expressway.

The victim, Jobis Ozoria, 29, the director of the Children’s Aid Society team based at I.S. 166 in the Bronx, crashed his Nissan Maxima into a tree on the shoulder of the Deegan. The car exploded on impact. Mr. Ozoria, an unmarried father, was pronounced dead when Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene, police sources said.

No other cars were involved and no one else was injured according to police.

Although the cause of the accident has not yet been determined, it is likely that Mr. Ozoria was speeding. The impact of the collision was forceful enough that half of the car’s transmission landed approximately 50 feet away from the crash site. A charred baby stroller was left among the remains of the wreckage. Scattered shards of plastic, a headlight, tire and other components from the car were spread along the embankment several feet from the site.

Medical examiners have yet to determine the exact cause of death and no criminal activity is suspected at this time.

What a tragic waste of life. Sure, our Maximas are fun to drive, but that kind of speed is irresponsible on a public highway. It's terrible that the guy died; thank goodness he didn't take anyone with him.

A senseless, stupid, and completely avoidable way to go, truley unexplainable to a now fatherless child. Pretty selfish if you ask me.

Its not the dead people that I feel sorry for, its the families.

Man, poor guy, a single mistake in judgment and the poor guy lost his life. I hope he didn't suffer.

To those people above who are making this a joking matter, you should not be so quick to judge. We don't know what happened to him, whether he was actually just showing off, or committed suicide because he lost his job or whatever. Either way if you were a family member of that person who died how would you feel if you saw someone say "oh I love the new burnt paint job" or some other disrespectful thing. I am almost ashamed at the way some people are treating a fellow Maxima owner.

Sucks ... But seriously. Who cares what he did for a living. Oh he took care of children, so that makes it all right. If he was speeding enough to cause the transmission to fly 50 feet away, I wouldn't have wanted him to look in the direction of my son.

God placed that tree there as a way of saying "slow down, you're going to fast."

Is being a ***** really that fun?

What if his accelerator was stuck? What if someone sabotaged his car? What if he purposely hit the tree to avoid hitting anyone else?

Speeding is wrong I know that, but he paid for that mistake with his life why anyone would go an insult a person who died is beyond me.

But don't worry if any of you guys were speeding and hit and tree and were crying for help, while everyone else is standing around talking about what parts to take and saying that you deserved to die; I will do what I can to save your life.

Sincerely,

A person with a heart.

nobody is saying he deserved to die, they are saying that it is his fault for doing 100mph in a city setting. 1.) why was he going that fast? Thats my question. I have hit a tree at 55mph, i wasnt speeding though. I had ppl asking me about parts, thats what the ORG is. IMHO I think he was going well over 100, looks like 120+. That car is demolished. Im waiting to see if someone comes forward and says they were racing.

Nope just common human decency of which sometime in your life you evidently lost the value of or never had it to begin with.

I won't comment further as all of your BS comments were obviously meant to rouse the org.

Now go ahead and type your response behind the keyboard so you can feel adequate again.

There is no doubt that Jobis Ozoria made a very large mistake and paid dearly for it. His family will suffer greatly. Most on this Board will sense the humanity in this catastrophe and respond with kindness. A few dark souls see humor, condemnation, or other Bevis and Butthead thoughts. To those few, think about if you made a mistake of this magnitude. How would you want people to react? Would you not care if people placed dibs on your crash parts while your daughter contemplates a life without her dad? I think not.

I was going to say how amazing the side door panels didnt even look like they crumbled. It didnt do much good though. I will remember to take it a little easier out there on the road. That car is fast and it makes you want to drive it fast, but you have to be smart and safe about it.
