"Sprint Booster" Better Throttle Response

INFORMATIVE POST ON PRODUCT

I was checking some stuff out on eBay and I ran across this product. I have never heard of it before but apparently it was at SEMA.

Its a plug and play install and basically what it does is improves throttle response. Check it out using the link below and tell me what you think about it.

Sprint Booster @ eBay

Sounds like a total sham if you ask me. It is almost on par with those ebay "performances chips" that give you 30% hp boost....

I would prefer something like the Bullydog personally rather than a little gadget that makes the ECM think you are pushing the pedal farther than you really are.

Ok well I am not going to look around on Maxima.org in sections that I don't care about. If you didn't notice this is the 7th gen. section and I have a 2009 Nissan Maxima not 4th gen. or 5/5.5 gen. so why would I go around looking in other sections other than the 7th gen. section? I am putting it out there for the 7th gen. owners information. If its a problem with you that I put it up in the 7th gen. section then stay out of the 7th gen. section!

Not trying to sound like a smartass, but you could do a search for this product and look on the whole forum to see if any one else had used it. Who knows, maybe a 7th Gen owner has used it but put it under the General Discussion. But no need to get testy when someone else points out that it has been discussed before.

My post wasn't meant to be smart in any way. I don't enter this section either. I just gave you the link to the most recent thread about this so you could see what other members think about the booster instead of me just saying its sucks. That thread is informative on what it is and what it does imo

Not a problem I see your point but at the same time I get very aggravated when people have to make smart-*** remarks such as ".....Great. The sprint booster is back again." which 94maxteamrtv had posted. I just don't like people that are smart asses like use search and this and that. For new people that use maxima.org they don't know how to use everthing just yet and for someone that does use it often knows how to so for someone to post stupid stuff like that in regards to my post I take offense to it. People need to think before the post and consider the persons JOIN DATE.

The thing is that I did not want it under the general discussions section. I it could go there but this is a link to the 7th Gen. Product on eBay not to a specific web site. I am trying to get it out there to the 7th Gen. Owners what products I find. I created the After-market Products & Accessories Thread for the 7th Geners so in a way if I find a new product I post it; nothing wrong with that.

Thank you for your reply.

To you I apologize; I did not look into the link to see that the link text that showed up was the title of the thread and I though that it was a smart remark kinda like omg look what I found. So again I apologize to you that was my mistake. Thank you for the informative information for myself as well as other 7th Geners.

LOL. I was being sarcastic BTW. If you had looked in the 5th gen forum you would of seen the thread shown to you. Take it easy, read through the thread and you will see why I was being sarcastic.

I did see the 7th gen mods thread you had and it was a pretty good start for you 7th gen guys.

Others will naturally disagree, but it is my opinion that you can simply push the acellerator pedal down further and get the same effect without bothering to purchase and install this gizmo.

In other words, this 'sprint booster' would be wasted on the 7th generation Maxima. Thanks for the info, itzPHIL.

Having put this in my 5.5 gen last weekend, and hanging out occasionally in the 7th gen's CVT thread, I have to wonder what impact the Sprint Booster would have on the 7th gen.

I've caught some flame from a few 5th gen'rs, but none so much that it matters, because I'm having such a blast with this little device.

Hasn't anybody here tried it yet? From what I understand, you can probably test drive one at your local speed shop for free.

Rochester do you know what Stage your running, i.e. 2 or 3? I think this would be a great compliment to the 7th Gen, the way the car falls flat during normal acceleration with the CVT.

Are you referring to the new model, with the 3 stages: off, on, aggressive? Because the one in my car doesn't have stages. It's the older mode, which is simply always-on. More specifically, it's the unit designed for the 5.5 Maxima Automatic-Transmission... even though I drive a 6MT.

The 7th gen is so new, and performance mods are still rare, so I'd think any kind of mod that affects the driving experience would be one worth experimenting with.

Correct I thought you had the current model, glad you were brave enough to do a write-up I think I'll get this and try it out. If this makes the car more sporty as a daily driver I'm all for it.

Thanks for saying that about my write-up.

The hate was blisteringly intense, requiring a thorough scrub and massive delete by the end of yesterday between me and another member. I was dumbfounded that he agreed to do that, considering the history, but very glad that he came around.

Seriously, you don't know the half of it. The 5th gen forum hasn't been actively moderated in a long, long time. I'm really not liking what that section of the Org is turning into. I may just buy a 7th gen so I can hang out here instead. (JK)
