Wow, talk about a good year. They have to be happy with those numbers. Maybe this will let them feel more free to do exciting things like a AWD 3.7L 2011 max. I would have some serious thought of trading the 2010 in....
Very nice. Hopefully now in some of the years to come well start seeing some better quality products put out across the board.
You live in Orlando FL, what the hell could you possibly need AWD for lol.
You live in Orlando FL, what the hell could you possibly need AWD for lol.
not only that, why would you want them to dump a even bigger engine into it and make AWD standard? then there would be absolutely no difference in both price and set-up to the G37 sedan! Maxima sales would drop because for the same price you can be in the Luxury brand Infiniti with higher resale values then the mainstream brand Nissan with lower resale values
even right now, Nissan is charging almost just as much for a loaded Maxima as a loaded G37, which is a mistake, if anything the price of the Maxima needs to be lowered a little bit so that they don't intrude so much into Infiniti, Acura, and Lexus prices! They should leave the horsepower, transmission, and drivetrain alone on the Maxima because that is what makes it different right now to the G37; I would love to see them make a AWD option on the premium package though, similar to the snow mode on the FX so that you have FWD most of the year and then it is is snowy/icy you flip the snow mode on and put AWD! 290hp and 261 ft torque is just way to much power to have in just the front wheels when the road is slushy, snow covered, or icy! I live in NJ and this winter has been hell and my front wheels have slipped a lot and the VDC flashed often to compensate!
the FX is AWD all the time, snow mode is to lock the differential so it has 50% traction front to rear, that is what snow mode is, if you have ever owned an AWD anything, it is a real pity to get through or out of deep snow with traction control

Nice, I think what initially hurt the Maxima sells was the photos on the internet. I remember when i first saw it and I was like damn, that thing is ugly and then when i went to Nissan and saw them sitting on the lot, I was like "WOW"!!
Most of my neighbors had the same impression until they saw my new Max and now everywhere I go my car gives people Whiplash.
now, bear in mind my was a 05, maybe 06 and later they changed it to AWD all the time but the 03-05 models where RWD with the AWD option! if even said that in the brochure I still have!

so now I have my 08 TL and my 10 Maxima and couldn't be happier, I feel I've got the best Acura and Nissan have to offer!!!
exactly what happened to me; I have a 08 TL and I actually was more interested in a 2010 TL but those photos did not do the car justice either and so I tried several times to go in person and even in person I just could not get over the fug ugly front grill! I tried, I really tired to love it but I just couldn't; suffice it to say I went and saw the Max in person and said, wow, that looks like a Infiniti, its sweet looking- I'm now in Maxima SV!!

plus, the Maxima must have had a nice exterior since Infiniti copied some of the curves and body panels that the 2011 M has in it; from some angles now when I look, the Maxima looks like it will be a baby M
personally, I felt the interior in the new TL was better than the new Maxima, but I just couldn't stand how big the car was and how ugly the front and rear ends are! don't get me wrong, the Maxima's interior, especialyl with the premium package is really nice and looks almost Infiniti like, I should know since I have a FX35, wink wink!! but most people see the outside of the car then the inside and the Maxima's new body style was so new and aggressive that it was a no brainer! plus I got a nice heated steering wheel that you couldn't even get in the new TL

very true, the restyled front end on the 2010 G Sedan does have some resemblance to the new M coming out; I do like the fact they made the fog lights separate as I feel they personally should be!! I personally just think the Max looks a little bit more like the new M because of how much wider the Max is compared to the G, and if I'm not mistaken, even with the new M, the Max is closer in size to the new M then the current G will be: below is the exterior dimensions; plus the new M has very similar rippled grooves in the hood that the Maxima has!! Actually, below shows that the Maxima fits almost perfect in size/dimensions halfway between the G37 and new M37!!

True I happen to like the new M as well and the 10 G sedan, do a comparo side by side of the 10 G and 11 M, there side profile is very similiar, rear end is similiar as well. Max side by side with them, you can tell its related but different. All 3 are handsome sedans!

before my wife and i got out max we really really tried to love the new TL also!! The interior of the TL is outstanding!!! Simply beautiful!!! But the outside not so much. We sold our 087 TSX for our 2010 max. we couldn't be happier. We also considered the G37. But we actually like the max styling better. Just love the car. more room and a ton more power. Love the nissan engines.
