This can stay because it was an official track and track time and proof was provided; however, anyone wishing to comment on it better leave street times and any other "illegal by U.S. Laws" discussions out of here.

BTW, nice times. What was in the other lane?

Nice time... Why did you choose D over Ds? Were you paddle shifting?

I believe you get slower times when your in Ds mode because in regular D mode the revs always stay up,....and no i didnt use the paddle shifts either

You nailed the launch! 1200 rpm and go on the last yellow? Any tire pressure adjustments? You have y pipe and intake...anything else? Also, does your car go to 6200 and stay there or is it an "outlier" like a guy posted last year who was running 13's...his went to 6400 and held there.

From his post...

My wife was putting the gas in the car. They filled it up with regular at the stealership also... ... whatever it takes to make it go is their motto ... but when i put in 93, after a full tank, then again and ran it a few times... makes a big difference.. pulls harder.. rpm's go up to 6600 and taper around 6400 rpm... instead of 6400 and taper to 6200. Which would make sense if the ECU senses higher octane now... 87 to 93! The car has more miles on it now, just all around feels better!

wow, I am thinking that I have a "outlier" as well as mine will get 6600-6800 and hold there. I just thought that was normal.

Most hit 6200 and stay there. Maybe there is a correlation with driving habits. I have a light foot except when blowing it out which NEEDS to be done, btw. I got lots of whitish-gray smoke until about 5 short WOT runs over two days @ 35-70 or so.

Maybe a computer reset and some aggressive throttle runs would give us all the extra RPM. I have put only 93 octane in mine so that should not be a factor.

Yes thats the key here tire pressure...My first couple of times going to the track i left my tire pressure at 35psi and was getting horrible 60ft times, lowered my pressure down to 22psi and got an excellent 60ft...About the rpms staying at redline i dont think mine hits redline, i think it hits 6400 then down too 6200....and yes i use nothing but 93 octane

Yeah I can do the same on a regular basis not sure why others only hit 6200.

Man! 66-6700 RPM and the speedo says 27 mph. Mine won't do that at all. 6200 is about 40 mph if I recall???

OK, I may be missing something - but what mode do you have the CVT in when you're hitting those RPMs? I tried last night, but was reaching the speed limit on the highway I was driving, and had only gotten into the 5,500 RPM range?

I had the CVT in D, not Ds or Ds Manual.

Thanks!

What I noticed with the gas pedal on this car is if you push it all the way down and you think it is to the limit and then you give it some more muscle it goes down a little more.. When you push the gas down the Roma go up to 6200 rpm but you give it some more push it goes ip to 6600-6700. Maybee u guys that can,t get the toms up past 6200 are not pushing the gas al t he way, it feels like it is all the way down but it does go more..
Has anyone else noticed this about the gas?
I have a 2010 sv premium

I noticed this too, I was doing about 40 then I oushed it all the way down past that point, and damn, the car really took off and I actually kinda fishtailed because the power to the front wheels was insane. The vdc kicked in though and saved my butt!

Funny, 'cause I floor it off a light or when doing 10-15 mph, and it doesn't ever seem to hit 6k RPMs ... will have to try again.

Are you guys in D or Ds? Using paddle shifters?

Thanks!

If you're not pushing past the stop near the end of the throttle travel, you won't reach maximum RPM.

D and no paddles has given the fastest times in all the best test runs we have had here over the past two years.

When I do it in D, it reaches the max rpmas very quickly at around 40 mph.

Congrats Bro, that's outstanding. Who would've ever thought a car weighing over 3500lbs with 4 doors and a CVT would do 13's.

Sweet

PS: I know someone asked already but I might have missed the response, but did you do any type of Torque Braking for your launch??

Yeah so I think that is the problem with some of you guys not going over 6200 RPM's is because you are not pushing the pedal all the way down, you think you are but there is more just gonna give it some more umph..
This happen a few times for me I massed the gas and then i pressed harder and the pedal went down anouther inch or soo..

So it worked for you? What rpm can it do now?

Up around 6,400 RPMs or so. A lot higher than it used to.

Most dangerous

Are you using your factory box? When I went to the track at Maxus I believe my best 1/4 in the trial runs was 14.458

I'm actually heading to the track this Friday with a local 370Z group. Hoping for mid to low 14's bone stock. Going to take your advice and drop the front wheel PSI to mid 20's for better traction. I'll probably be the slowest one out there (a few 900hp GT-R's, AMG's, etc.) but just want to see what the baseline is for my car!
