Does the EQ on the iPod in our Maximas still work when the iPod is plugged in through the USB port? I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I feel like I have the opposite issues people are having in this thread. My iphone 3G will connect via bluetooth, usb, and charge without any adapter. On the other hand, my 2nd generation iPod will not work with the usb, it keeps telling me to "check usb." I don't like using my phone as an iPod cause I also have the issue of contact names appearing as long strings of random characters. Anyone have any suggestions?
