Best Brake Pads for our Cars?
Best Brake Pads for our Cars?
best brake pads and rotors to buy for 7th gen? any suggestions... upon ordering my new vossens i figured i will change rotors.. paint calipers and change pads......
i know tire rack has the power slot cryo front and back now out for the maxima..but i haven't seen any good sporty pads out yet...I've been waiting to try out the red stuff ebc. I hear people say good things about them, But there not out yet.
I also read a lot about the ecb red stuff....they do have them for our cars.....performancebrakes.com has them for I think 75 bucks for the front.......
I have been looking at BBK for the Max, and I emailed someone on ebay about the infiniti BBK and have not heard back.

If those fit, and Im trying to find out, I would put them on, 1900 bucks why not

What's "best" here is somewhat use-dependent. Brake pads in particular prefer to operate within particular temperature ranges, and it is just as possible to install a pad intended for duty that's too much more severe than your own as it is to slap on some bargain-counter set that's not enough. Trading poor fade performance for poor cold bite and more noise/dust/rotor wear isn't much of an 'upgrade'.
Personally, I've had good results with Hawk HPS pads in cars that are street driven and/or see occasional autocross duty. But they aren't enough pad for a road course open-tracking outing.
I've also been happy with ATE slotted rotors. Not because they're slotted, but because they work well in street use. Had them on the front of my 20AE Max for a couple of years, and just swapped all four OE's to ATE's on the '08 Mustang. FWIW, I got them for the Max because I'd got two sets of plain Brembo rotors that were crap dimensionally, and the ATE's were simply the next step up. But it has turned out well enough to recommend them.
