Infiniti planning to release an M coupe!

I know this isn't Maxima related but it is still a decision being made by Nissan. It looks like they are gonna release the M coupe in two styles, M37 and M56 to compete with Mercedes-Benz's E-coupe lineup. Here is the article, Enjoy!!!

they were just rendered photos based off the Essence coupe showcar last year. I dont think it has been confirmed that a coupe M will come out but interesting renderings. Thanks for the links. Personally I dont think that Infinity will Coupe the M only the G much like Nissan and the Altima and Maxima. Couped the Altima, only 4dr for the Max

I kinda like it. I like coupes better than sedans any day...except for the Max of course. Not that it matters too much but shouldnt this be in the "Other Cars" section...just sayin...

I hear wat ur sayin, there will be no incentive to buy it since the G already has a 3.7. Maybe if they only built them with 5.6 liter engines.

The essence is going to be supercar priced, Im sure its well above six figures, This M coupe if released would be in the 60k range.

Yes your right! I asked that very question to the Infiniti people at the NY Auto Show back in April, and they told me, when the Essence sport coupe comes out, it would be there suped up, top line sports model and would probably start in the low 100k's some where!

I would pay that much If I had that kind of money, without a doubt that car was insanely nice, I love how theres no gear shifter just the two paddles.

Ill take the E coupe or 6 series over the M concept any day of the week.

"And at $58,000, the M56 sedan is priced just $3,000 above the E550."

Yes but you get more power for those 3 grand and i personally never really liked German interiors. Since everyone spends 99% of the time inside their cars it's a very important part of a car.

I find it funny how people complain about Infiniti being a second tier luxury company, compared to Lexus, BMW, and MB because of various reasons, including not offering certain models for competition to those other luxury companies, and then when they start doing just that, such as the Essence concept and M coupe, people b$%ch and moan how they aren't going to buy that, its overpriced, not as nice, etc etc with excuses after excuses why they don't like it or would not get it! so then why should Infiniti even bother!

For Infiniti, some of you put them in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation and they'll never be as good, no matter what they do or try to do.

The interior of the E class is just as nice if not nicer than the M. Just like the G they should've priced it below the Germans to attract more buyers. Just look at how successful the G is.

BMW and Mercedes Benz have spent decades building their reputation of producing the best luxury cars in the world. Its understandable that it would take more than just a years for Infiniti to be taken seriously.

More car for your money, their is a reason people buy E350coupes and and why BMW is bring the 635/640 over to the US, more car for your money, an M37coupe would be sweet, and would probably be most of the sales, so when I buy my M56coupe I'll feel unique

I mean, the E-class is very luxurious and all, and if far from having the worst interior in the business but, like Acura and a couple of other companies, they have begun putting a little bit too much cheap plastic pieces into their interiors and I've read two or three reviews over the last few years slapping MB on the wrist for that! Personally, I think the interior in the new M is finally on the level of BMW, MB, Lexus, etc. Infiniti, Audi, and BMW seem to be the only ones not cutting corners with their interiors and seem to be putting in higher quality materials as time goes on, or at the very least, not putting in cheap plastics.

I mean, I do understand that interior styling is highly subjective, but most people have praised the new interior of the M. I mean, I've personally never have cared for the interior styling and ergonomics of BMW, but others love and drool over it, so who knows!

Oh, I think that Infiniti is taken very seriously considering how just 8 years ago, Infiniti was on the brink of obscurity and fading into history and how much the company has turned around in just 8 short years. I think that gives them incredible respect and reputation in just that fact alone. I mean, the people at BMW have said that their biggest threat/competition is from Audi and Infiniti. I don't think not being taken seriously is the problem. I think you are right, in that BMW and MB are much older companies with longer and better established reputation and there are a few areas where Infiniti still trails them, but with each new generation of Infiniti models, that gap seems to be closing more and more.

I mean it pains me to say this, since I have a 3G TL and I love it and the style, but Acura is even older than Infiniti in this country, and look at the direction and limited offerings that company is going in !

I've always said this, I think that Audi and Infiniti are the up and coming luxury companies, with Audi, a few years ahead of Infiniti. Both are not the highest in sales, but with the sporty *** models and choices they are coming out with, they most certainly will give the big three (BMW, MB, and Lexus) a run for their money and take some of their sales, but you are right that its going to take at least another decade or two for Audi and Infiniti to build up the reputation that BMW, MB, and Lexus have worked so long and hard to make!

Its funny though, I have had a Cadillac, Mercedes, Infiniti, and Acura and I got more stares, complements, etc on my Infiniti and Acura, then I ever did on my Mercedes. I think what happens with MB, BMW, and Lexus is, everyone knows that they are top level luxury companies and thus its just common knowledge that they are refined, high quality products and so less people need to make comments, whereas Infiniti and Acura for instance, not everyone knows how nice they are and thus inquire and are more inclined to complement, stare, etc at those products. I think Audi is that way as well and personally, I like that!

Trust me, Infiniti is a very smart company! If the M56 and the new M coupe are priced to high, and sales are not that great, Infiniti will either lower the price or change the models with newer tech, more features, increased refinement, etc to warrant the higher price. We have to first, wait and see how they sell to know if things have to be changed. One thing I've noticed over the years with Infiniti, is that, if their vehicles have some problem areas, they do at least try to fix those issues as time goes on. I can't completely say that for their parent company Nissan or many other companies I have bought or leased from over the years!
