SpeedForceRacing Turbo Complete System (Needs Donar Car for R&D)
SpeedForceRacing Turbo Complete System (Needs Donar Car for R&D)
Hey guys thanx to rtitan for providing the link to the forums about the SpeedForceRacing Turbo for the Altima that was done.
I went ahead and contacted them and I have some great news but also possibly bad news.
GOOD NEWS!!!
They are more than willing to design a complete turbo kit for the 2009-10' Nissan Maxima. The are located in Santee, CA so if anyone is close to that area or is interested in driving down to that area to allow for SpeedForceRacing to develop a turbo kit for our cars PM me and i'll provide you with the information as to who to contact.
When I asked them how soon they would be able to start they said "ASAP" so PM me ASAP so we can get this thing rolling
BAD NEWS!!!!
Well there really isn't any unless we can't get a donor car. So who wants to step up to the plate and allow them to use their car for this project

Not sure how long it would take. I doubt that they will give you a car to drive but they more than likely will let you keep the system that they make which is probably over $2K so I would say that is quite a trade off.
is this a reputable company?

Kam you are an animal! Good work finding and contacting these companies.. I know I speak for many when I say thanks alot.
This is freaking awesome. I hope someone steps up because this is unbelievable. Awesome.

Does anyone have some information on this company and some info on other builds? I might be willing to donate my car for a month but I need more info on "recent" builds not stuff from 2003.
SFR has been around for years. Done many kits on 4th - 6th gen Maximas. Reputable, yes, expensive, probably, worth it, up to you to decide. If I had the green and wasn't such an NA person, I'd go w/ SFR.

I've been looking at GTM Motorsports for a couple months, they just finished a really nice turn-key kit for the 370Z.

Plus they made a SC setup using a Rotex supercharger.
You can put your car on a shipping truck for a couple hundred bucks and have it shipped out to them, add in cost of plane tickets and traveling, but a turbo upgrade is gonna cost more then just the cost of a turbo, simply put if you can't afford to buy your car twice you should not do this

yes it's a reputable company.. they made the 02-03 turbo kit.. heres a video

not everyone can say my 7th gen is Turbo but who ever does it ,i give u props for steppin' up !
Yes I agree I think a turbo is a horrible idea for this car especially with the heat soak issues and the high heat CVT, a SC would be much better. More tractable power and less heat, I really like GTM you can't even tell the car has been modified superb professional work and they live and breathe Nissan.

the last car with a cvt and a turbo blew his tranny..it was an altima couple, i think the turbo kit was made by speedforceracing as well...suprised there willing to do another kit for a cvt tranny car
Damn, that sucks. C'mon guys your gonna spend over 2k for a turbo setup and then if your tranny blows bc of it, your warranty will be voided. Is it really worth it? Im not trying to argue but is it seriously worth it?
Tru. Plus I see Nissan, much like their "stealership" service centers, looking for any reason not to have to perform and pay for warranty work. I'm sure once one of there techs pops the hood and sees a turbo that any thought of a warranty on anything would fly right out the window. Warranty is very important to me.
removing the turbo to then bring the car in for the trans, seems like to big of an issue to even deal with, search the internet car forums and you will find owners who modified their cars, voiding their warranties, but they did it knowing full well the consequences.Maybe the trans will hold out, the Altima coupe with the turbo, think I read he swapped in a manual

Yes I was the first 6th Gen Maxima to get the SFR Turbo (Stage II). Yes I had to beef up my tranny as a result. I would be cautious with the CVT. Overall I'm extremely happy with the quality of the Turbo and my Max is hella FUN to drive. SFR are extremely knowledgeable and Turbo Tim is great to deal with as well as responsive to questions..

It will probably already cost 5k in parts and labor to install, give or give

I let K&N,Takeda, and Eibach do RnD with my 7th gen. I really don't drive the maxima's around since I got my bike. It's hard to say yes to something like this if you're engine will blow.... A little scared... Hopefully some one else here in So Cal will step up...
