dangit I have the 09 and would like the bluetooth streaming as well... I wonder if this is a completely different bluetooth module in the car or if this is a software change. it'd be great if we could swap out something in the 09 to add this feature, but I'm guessing the bluetooth is built into the head unit so it'd probably be a whole stereo swap out wouldn't it?

wouldnt even care about the BT streaming if I could get the RCA input jacks to work consistently. sometimes I plug things into them and nothing happens and I'm stuck listening to the radio...

Sounds like that is something covered under warranty. The challenge will be getting it to fail at the dealership.

Use the RCA's

If you have RCA's in the glovebox I would recommend using those as bluetooth can have lots of dropouts, static and other issues. If you have an Iphone 4 you can read apples forums or others about all the problems...

For my Iphone I mounted it on the left pillar www.proclipusa.com which has Maxima specific mounts (which look fantastic) and then got an apple composite cable that has video, audio and a usb connection in a single cable. I routed the cable in the dash and under the center console and then into the console. I hooked the 3 RCA's into the console connection and the USB into the power jack to charge it. I did not connect the USB to the in console usb port because that causes the pandora non play issue as it diverts control of the phone to the radio.

All of this makes for a very stealth and sophisticated look as the mount is black and tucked above the left vent. With this configuration i can play Pandora, all my local music and movies from the iphone and into the radio aux connection which gives me on-wheel volume control and lets me charge the unit at the same time.

As an FYI:
I did the radio mod which lets me have access to the videos while the car is in motion. Being able throw out Avatar on the monitor and have it come through the audio system looks and sounds amazing. Everyone loves it.

I loaded a jailbreak app on the Iphone that replicated the on phone screen display onto the monitor. The monitor resolution is not that great but its kind of cool for you to see your emails, calls etc. on the monitor.

Total cost was around $175

Guys, I just bought the most expensive fricking maxima they had (premium package). afaik it has everything except navigation on the car... but I don't have this bluetooth stream thing!!!

when I go into settings, there is no 'bluetooth' option in there!!!!

I don't understand why I wouldn't have it. I have the bt and the screen to have it. it's like missing software, not hardware...

any help with this?

my girl and I both have androids so we can't use the USB cord to listen to our music, and there is no 3.5mm aux input, so we can't plug it in either. our only options are either the Y/W/R input, or the usb

It sounds like you bought the Maxima without the tech package. I have the same premium Max that's got bluetooth for the phone but if you don't buy the tech package there's no bluetooth streaming music.

I would see if there's a cable from your Android that converts to composite (Y/W/R) instead of using the 3.5mm headphone jack. You'll get better sound that way. Since I've got an iPhone, I don't know if they make this or not, but I'm sure someone has found one.

And for those of you with iPhone/bluetooth/music issues: since updating to the latest iPhone software over the weekend, I haven't had any issues.

I see... the tech package is the one with navigation... so no navigation = no streaming bt
