RIMS

I have a 2010 Max SV I'm gonna put some shoes on her ... 20's or 22's same size all around or staggered, what tire and size ... why? Also do you think Vossen 82's machine black with chrome lip would look good? Help me out.

for 20s 245/35/20. for 22s, 245/30/22 is working fine for me.

I think it would depend if you drop your car or not for rims. 20s if you drop it or 22s if you don't drop it. Personally I like my 20' vossens dropped..more rubber on the tires. I think you should search around the forum for pics since there are plenty of members with white maximas with rims and dropped including myself.

When the rear wheels and/or tires are wider than the front. And usually the rear lip is deeper.

Probably. A lot people despise it on a FWD car. But it sure does look good.

Staggered wheels on a FWD car are pointless. While the "look" is undeniably better, you're wasting your cash for no real benefit.

With the right offset, a 245 or 255 width at all 4 corners will look great, plus your footprint will be larger. I know that on RWD cars, the staggered setup is great for drag racing, however not ideal for attacking switchbacks (my favorite). You may end up having more understeer than you bargained for.

All that being said, if you aren't concerned about performance, 22's look great on these cars, but you'll have more unsprung weight to deal with unless you decide on spending over a grand a wheel for some nice forged alloys (Vossen, Work, BBS, Rays, etc). More weight at each corner ruins the braking, handling, acceleration, the whole lot.

Just my .02 cents, for what its worth!

22's dont do it for me on a car like this. I wouldnt even put 20's. Keep it sporty with some 19's and a drop.

Thats the way to do it. Reason I got sport is cause I knew I could have a beautiful set of wheels I would never have to change and that i could use all year round.

Does anyone want to sell their stock 19's? I have the 18's and would like to just grab the 19's so I can keep them on year round. My main hesitancy about getting rims is having to pull them off every winter...that got really old on my last whip.

I see on Ebay people are selling their rims for ~$400 for just the wheel refurbished...if that's what they're going for forget it I'll get aftermarket rims wow...lol...

You want my wheels? I have 5! Yes, I said 5 of the 2010 19' sports rims. 4 on my car and one spare! All the same 19 inch sports wheel and in mint condition, lol. Let me know if you can convince me to get mine and I go get me some Vossens!

I'm looking to get some stock 19's...really though because I'm working under the impression you can leave them on year-round without any issues. Is it just that people don't care about stock rims getting eaten up by ice? Or do the stock rims withstand it better cause of the coating they have or something?

Part of my confusion is why the stock Nissan rims cost so much...saw a set being sold on Ebay for $1500+! I'd almost rather get aftermarket rims if they're that pricey...

Depending on what you're asking for them I could just sell my stock 18's on Ebay and pay the difference to get yours. If you're serious that is.

i don't live in the snow but i guess its because salt doesn't eat up paint. aftermarket 19s are kinda rare but you could get brand new aftermarket 20s and tires for like 1,000

19" are cool but tires will be a lot more expensive when replacing and you will feel it on the road for sure. those skinnier tires come at a sacrifice.

either keep your 18" or go all out with 20" and drop it.

Yeah I guess I might as well just go aftermarket...it'd probably cost me $1000 to swap out my 18's for 19's and at that point I'd be better off just getting new rims and fresh tires. This way I can also pick a good set of tires to do as much as I can about ride quality.

Do you just swap them on/off yourself and get a mechanic to do a balance/alignment every time you change rims?
