Bluetooth Audio ..How about video?

I have an HTC Inspire. I can listen to Slacker Radio using the Bluetooth audio. Is there a way to also get the phones display to work on the screen in the dashboard maybe with an RCA cable? Anyone have any success with this type of thing?

Bluetooth is only for audio, not a limitation of the Maxima or anything that's just all Bluetooth is - audio. If your phone has a video output cable that has RCA connections, you can use that. I had a video output cable with my HTC Droid Incredible and it worked okay - although the picture really wasn't great...

Not completely true, although many implementations don't support the DAVP/DVP stack for video. Same holds true for file transfer, peer-peer, printing, etc. But it IS true that the Maxima's Bluetooth stack does NOT support Bluetooth Video.

Is there a way to get the phones display onto the cars screen using an rca video cable or maybe via usb? For example, I have heard of people using the google maps on the Maxima screen, from their phone, somehow...

Hmm interesting, did not know that. Never knew Bluetooth's transfer rate was fast enough to support video transfer. Never actually seen anyone use a Bluetooth connection for anything other than file transfer, keyboard/mouse, or phone calls/audio streaming.

Depends on your phone. I had an HTC Incredible and used this cable to use Google Maps.

Even if your phone can connect via an RCA jack, I doubt it would be useful for viewing google maps while driving. The AUX display will only work when the car is in park the the e-brake applied. You would need some additional equipment to override the lockout.

Yeah I've been trying to figure out what movie formats it supports too. I don't know if anyone in here has figured it out yet.

Hokay, figured it out for myself and figured you guys would like to know. Spent some time and put a lot of different types of movie files on my memory stick and tried it on the max. The video playback system is Divx registered so, so far the only type I've found to work so far are .avi files. I'm going to explore some other file types and keep you guys posted. I thank you goodnight
