Don't get me wrong ur braking will be worse... Enough to cause getting new brakes? Prob not... Just drive with a little more distance and maybe put some grippier pads on her if you notice the braking is really bad...

Braking will be affected slightly. You might or might not notice. I don't think it's enough to need new brakes though, unless you take it to the track.

Do you mean new pads/rotors, or whole new caliper assemblies???

Couldn't hurt to replace the pads if they've got a lot of miles on them, but new brakes entirely, no way. More clarification of the recommendation you received might clear up some confusion...

This is what someone wrote in my other thread

Install look great, but i seriously advise you not to put 22's on this max unless you have money to pay for a serious braking assembly when it gives out. Learn from my mistake if you put 22's on this ride change your pads for added stopping power. most will tell you the max don't need it but anytime you change your wheels from 18 to 22's there going to be failure somewhere down the line, and you don't want to be in the middle of traffic and your brakes go out.

Brake failure? I highly doubt it. I had 22s and then 24s (stock 17s) on my Charger with like 80% city driving. I had my brakes checked at about 40k miles cuz they were squeeking and I didn't even need new pads yet. I would imagine the brakes on the Max are better than a V6 Charger.

not only will it affect brake pads, it will surely affect the rotors.

big heavy wheels makes the rotors easy to warp

I noticed a difference but like a previous poster said I just keep plenty of distance between cars. I also try to make slower stops.

If you can notice a difference, then you either need to stay at 20s or upgrade your brakes, period! Go slow, and don't follow as close??? I look at modding as having two goals, improved performance and appearance. Best mods improve both, ok mods improve one or the other, stupid mods improve one at the expense of the other.
