Superchips for maxima?

I found this interesting request on Nissanclub.com, I had a superchips tune (cortex)on my Titan and that truck totaly came alive. Dont know if they can work with a CVT tranny........any thoughts?

Superchip for the Maxima
Superchips is an listed vendor on this site, so I sent them an PM to see if they are in production of making a tune or have already made one. He sent me this back:

It's funny you should mention this as we were just discussing the option of offering a 3.5L tune for the Altima, Maxima, 350Z and what kind of feedback I have received towards that product.

At this time you are the second to ask me for this so I don't have enough feedback to bring management what they would need to make a final decision to go.

You can help me out with this though. What I need is someone to create a thread looking for owners interested in the option of a Superchips programmer for their vehicles.

It can be a mix of the vehicles I have listed in this PM and does not have to be secluded to one Forum also. The more buzz you can generate over the web the better the chances are for success.

We just need anough interest to show a general return in our investment in terms of R&D and engineering a product.

If I can help with anything let me know.

Scott

I don't have an Maxima but trying to get feedback from the three different cars talked about above. I'm working on trying to get more options for my car, so if you have had a superchip or know someone who has had it, post the experience.

I had a Superchips on my 2006 Dodge Ram, I loved that thing! It is disappointing that there isn't one for the Max yet, I would go out and buy one right now if they made it so yeah, 1+ for me!

My 2011 Mustang is custom tuned to perfection based on modded parts and can't live without it. Make a chip for the Max and I am definitely in.

What kind of tune are you going for? Is it something that a shop is offering or the bullydog?

Please post any results. I was thinking that Nissan may have down-tuned this engine so the Infinity could list higher. They share so many other components, I wouldn't be surprised.

there really isnt a "chip" you could install to a OBD2 computer its not obd0 or 1

there would have to be a piggy back unit or a reflash and that piggy back unit to compete with uprev should be way under $500....so i hope we could see something good and affordable because im sure they will have 20 customers right away.

I'm 100% certain that this is the case, I remember back in the 4th Gen Max (97 SE model) was able to run neck and neck with the Z and in some cases flat out beat it with both being stock.

Something tells me that Nissan was smart enough not to make the Max too fast as to hurt or usurp Z and G sales.

I wish Nissan just quit playing around with the Max and make their flagship around 380-400hp right out the box with AWD. (I can hear the Infiniti arguments right now)!! LOL.
