Knock in front end...

Installed Eibachs a couple days ago now I have s knock on both sides of the front only when going over bumps or uneven pavement....

Any ideas? My thought is that it may be the sway bar links? Maybe the bolts on the links where they connect to the strut assembly are not tight enough?

Did you have the TSB done on the strut isolator? If yes, then I would be willing to bet your front brakes are sticking. Mine did the EXACT same thing

Mine is a 2011 so I dont think that TSB applies.

Front brakes sticking? you mean the pads to the rotor? I dont know about that but I will check them out.

Its not all the time and usually it is just one side (Passenger) but sometimes both. It only happens on the side I hit the uneven pavement on. Unless it is a bigger bump then I get a loud knock on one side and a softer knock on the other...

My guess is the sway bar links... I am going to crank them down until I cant anymore and see if that fixes the problem. I will keep everyone updated, but in the meantime if anyone else has more ideas I am all ears.

I had the exact problem man, had it in the shop three times, tsb completed, then the chief mechanic finally verified the noise after sitting in their yard for a day straight.

They disassembled the brake assembly, apparently had some buildup that made the calipers randomly stick. They cleaned everything and changed the pads since then ZERO knocks

Hope that helps man

I figured it out... Didn't have the one bolt that holds the strut in the top stay tightend down (the one you use a wrench and Allen key to tighten).... Tightened it a voila FIXED!

Thanks for the help!
