Custom Exhaust Suggestions!

Hey guys,

I just got back from the muffler shop and I was intending on putting on two Flowmaster 40 Original Series Mufflers and remove the resonator, replacing it with a straight pipe. The guy said that Flowmasters on Jap cars don't sound too well and I would be better off buying a pair of magnaflow 11226's. What do you guys think/have?

Thanks!

P.S.- This is what made me want the flowmasters (starts at 1:40)

i had a hugeee thread about this on nycmax, the general consensus was to go with borla boomers muffler tips, straight pipes or the racingline y-pipe, and maybe get rid of all the cats, i chose y-pipe due to straight pipes being illegal, and chose the borla boomers, everything should be here in the next week or 2 so ill post a vid and let u know how it sounds to help w ur decision making, good luck!

Thanks, I'll look at the tips and check out if they're right for me. Also, what type of muffler did you get?

No problem. I actually listened to the Borla exhaust systems and they are very muffled and quiet almost like the stock ones. I think I'll stick with the Magnaflow's and straight pipe application because of all the recommendations i've been getting from friends. Thanks for your insight though, I appreciate it! I'll post youtube video up as soon as I get these shipped and put on!

well its not the borla exhaust system, in that case, ud be right as far as it being quiet and muffled, its just the boomers muffler swap, and the racingline y-pipe bolt on which gives a nice little sound to the exhaust, add an intake and maybe remove the cats and you'll have a nice sounding system my friend, gotta be careful with the straight pipes my dude, lotta places wont even install them cause they get in trouble
