Question Might sell the Max!

So, I have been thinking of possibly selling my car, I was wondering how much you all think I should post it for- lowest i should sell it for?

I have 22k miles - 99% hwy miles if it matters at all, plus all the mods posted in my Sig.

Some pics

Thanks

check your local listings, then put it near them, and a bit higher then what you actually want so they can come and "lowball" you and think they are getting a good deal

So let's focus on the topic, how much can I get for it?

29500, is that realistic?

Na I am not gonna spend the time hassle of taking them off and selling posing, etc..., too much time.
I am sure Someone will like the mods I got. With all that its a fair price.

I have not seen a single white one sv w premium tech, etc... around my spot.
Other colors dealers got range from 29,000-32500.

KBB is a load of crap, NADA isnt bad, but I laugh when people through around KBB value, it all goes on your local market.
I bet you could get 29k for it stock and at least 1.5k for the mods. Why not take a bit of time to swap your wheels 30 min, take off your sway bars 30 min, 10 minutes for the lip and spoiler....
I mean i know you said you dont want to, but youll some of the money spent that way for a bit of time...

Yeah, I'll price it at 31,500, that seems like a fair price once if I decide to sell.

I got my 09 Sport/Tech with 22,000 on the motor for 26,500, with a few extra grand for the mods I'm not sure you'll get 31 but it's worth a shot - what's the worst that happens? Someone low ***** you?

For what its worth, I just bought a brand new SV with 7 miles on it (right off the truck) for $29,750. It stickered for $35,960.

As for mods, I have traded and/or sold several cars with mods over the years. They are worth pennies on the dollar to nothing at all, and most of the time actually detracted from the value of the car. Most people want an un-modded "clean slate" when they buy a car in my experience. I always fared much better by de-modding the car and returning it back to stock. You'll get far more parting it out for sure.

Everyone is going to tell ya to part out the mods....Yes someone may like it, but they could use that against you even in pricing.

Though I like what you have done, You really have to return the car to it's stock state. You know you have not "cowboyed" the car but most prospective customers would view the add on's as boy racer stuff. Most who read these pages (a smaller pool of prospective buyers) would value additions so maybe someone here would go for the car as is. ( For sure, chuck the black chin spoiler)

Chuck all of it, because they buyer will feel like they are paying extra for those mods, which will narrow down your prospective buyers. The market sucks as is....

That is true! If your car is not stock, you have already narrowed the market for it. And to be honest, try to offer a good deal. Don't be surprsied at how low some offers would be.

For when I want to buy a car, I look for every reason the car should be priced lower. And if you end up giving me a great deal, I don't smile at it. I still bargain or find another reason why it should be cheaper. Only when I pay your great price that you offered me, will I tell you THANKS A MILLION FOR THE AWESOME DEAL. That is how I buy a car.

Yeah when you sell a car just never forget you're competing with the new car sales too when the car isn't that old. Nissan has a $3000 rebate right now on the Max, and they are selling them at invoice to boot. This not only hurts resale value, but de-values used ones as well. As I said I got mine for $29750, and while it doesn't have the tech or sport packages on it, it was still brand new off the truck with 7 miles on it and has 100% warranty...

I agree with you guys, I would be narrowing potential interests; as much as I like my ride, most people prefer to buy an untouched car....
Even though I have not done any racing, etc... other than improve looks, little performance, and handling which is a Plus, but unfortunately most people (average buyers) perceive it as a negative.

Might just part out on some of the add ons, that makes more sense.
Once I decide marketing the Max...

Thanks

I vote with gtmassive, what makes you think you don't need a car in NY? Hang on to the car till you are sure you won't want or need it. Even living right in midtown Manhattan, I use my car at least a few days a week.

Hi everyone,

So, I recently posted the car for sale for 27900. I had one guy offer me 26500 with all the accessories except the stock rims. I told him, I'll get back to you.

What do u all think, should I sell it for that price.

The car has 30300 miles on it right now. Again it's the premium sv model, fully loaded with all the options (panaromoc roof) plus all my added accessories...
Sticker price was 39500!

Please share your comments, thank you!

Yes, the sticker price for the '10 Premium plus Tech was around $39,500, and the sticker price for that same car today is around $42,000.

BUT:

You did not pay sticker price, and most buyers will know this. You should have been able to drive this car out new for around $34,500 (I did). Less than that if Nissan has a deal going. Should you sell the car for $26,500, that means you drove a beautiful car for around 30,000 miles for $8,000 bucks.

Although Maximas usually last well over 100,000 miles, most folks consider the true useful market life of a car to be 100,000 miles. You have used almost one third of of that 100,000 (and easily the best one-third). And at the price you are being offered, it will have cost you less than one-fourth what you should have paid for it. That is a very favorable ratio.

Numbers can be twisted any number of ways, and your local market can shift things either way. Of course the condition of the car is also a factor, and some buyers will give added value for your additions, while others would subtract because of them. And remember that when the 8th gen arrives (spring of '13 as the '14 model year or spring of '14 as the '15 model year), all 7th gens will drop somewhat in market value, because they will be an 'old' design.

But when you consider the things I have mentioned here, you should feel the price you are being offered is not a bad price at all. Could you do better? Maybe. But a better offer might not be made very soon. There is no way to know.

Just my opinion.

Return it to stock and you will get more offers. Even though you would not do this, most would view the add ons as a"cowboy" driven car.

when i bought my Max, last august, i was also considering a black on black Sports+Lux+Tech packaged 2010 Max, flawless with 22K miles...they were selling it for 26.5K...so it might be geographic location dependent....just saying

Yeah sell it stock, listing it as modded people will assume you drove it hard (or raced it) and won't want to deal with the potential additional damage (or voided warranties) and nobody pays more for your mods. Part it out and sell it
