You won't notice drone until you have load on the motor...

Not in all cars. On my previous Subaru Sti with Equal Length Headers and and Invidia N1 turboback, just holding RPM's @ 2000rpm's sucked big time for drone in cabin. Again though, this is what i can tell from the video.

the Y pipe deletes a cat that isnt monitored by the ECU so it wont trigger a CEL

no backfire that i noticed yet, im on the fence whether or not i want it louder, i got the 4in tips ill post pics soon, the reason i wanted to take out the resonators and maybe run straight pipes is because the mufflers are bigger than the stock ones, so once theyre welded on its not a snug fit like the pipes where the resonators are are too long to be able to keep the exhaust tips up flush against the rear bumper so they hang down a little lower, its hard to explain, but in order for it to sit how the stock ones sat id need to replace the pipes where the resonators are to shorter pipes, or straight pipes

i thought i had read a post of yours where u were saying based on temp readings u werent sure how much the CAI was helping, if u have any new updates with the CAI that prove its worth in time and money ill prob go for it lol, the pulleys i installed sooo long ago but i did notice a difference when i got them, ive just dont so much other stuff since them that i notice more but theyre not a bad investment

the main thing im noticing that changes about the CAI is the mileage, all depending on how warm the pipes are. when they're cool not only is the AIT lower but it sounds awesome and mileage is great. on these crazy hot days the pipes have gotten literally too hot to touch so im lookin into gettin them ceramic coated with an interior thermal coating and will be doing more testing, but overall is still better than the SRI i had before even with overheating pipes

GQ your car looks AWESOME man i seen a lot of modded black 7th gens but for some reason yours looks better then MOST ive seen, keep up the good work man! and i would cut the resonator out and just replace it with a HIGH FLO resonator or "glass pack" from summit racing so you get some back pressure but better top end power! because the stock Resonator is HUGE!

all in all MUCH! better then the 900$ pos borla was selling to us! and i love the polished look!

thanks man, i owe the borla boomers mod to you lol, i couldnt find any high flo resonators and i called cattman they said they hadnt made any for the 7th gens, i think my first step would be the res delete or "glass pack" before i do any straight pipes or anything, i dont want the max sounding like a 5.0 mustang, although a nice sound, not meant for the 4 door sedan in my opinion lol

That video clip sounds very similar to the Stillen system (not hating!). That's the sound I like though... just a little raspy and sounds great in the upper rev range.

Who wants to try a custom true-dual setup?

a true dual from the precats all the way back to mufflers would be NICE!!!!!!! and im sure there would be a power advantage out of it also...

bmw has been doing that for YEARS

That's exactly what I was thinking. Run some mandrel bent SS pipes from the pre-cats back... run a staggered inline resonator (so both fit in the same tunnel without sacrificing ground clearance) then run both 2.5" pipes out to the mufflers.

Hmmm... might have to stop by an exhaust shop now to see about this

This would definitely require tuning for the full advantage. 2.5 inch pipes wouldnt fit in the tunnel? what about 2.25?

I'm sure it would be a tight fit... even with 2.25" pipes. For those who don't care about noise or resonance, could just run straight pipes from the pre-cats back to the mufflers.

The PDF below (page 2, photo 3) of the Stillen CBE install seems like there should be room for dual 2.25" pipes from the pre-cats back. Trouble would be hanging the rear section of it though. Would need to weld new hangers on the pipes and also put the rubber insulators for the hangers on both sides of the chassis so that nothing moves around.
