Troubles to come

i plan on baking my headlights tomorrow and installing some ccfl halo rings. For those that have baked there headlights and installed ccfl halo rings, what kind of trouble should i anticipate and exactly where doing the dissemble, assembly, and installation on the DRL halo rings. For those that installed the ccfl halo rings, how exactly did you secure them to the plastic fixture? Did you prep the plastic surface before painting? What kind of paint works best? I heard krylon fusion works good with plastic. I dont think it will be difficult to run the wires to power the ccfl halos to be used as DRL, but just securing them inside the lamp housing is what i want to make sure i do correctly. Also when putting hte headlamp back together after you bake it, i read it needs to sit for about 24 hours to cure, but what did you guys use to keep pressure to make sure you get a good seal all the way around? Did you use extra sealer?

why spend all that money just to get minimal results, in fact all the coloring the the headlamp assy makes it look worse.

why not spend the money on coilovers and well fitting wheels, make it tight.

it costs practically nothing to bake your headlights, its all time and labor. Like $6 for a can of paint and it was $30 for the ccfl. A lot cheaper then buying coilovers or bigger wheels

i used epoxy to attach my CCFLs, small dab at the top small dab at the bottom. the pro way to do it is using a thin piece of wire that wraps around the CCFL and u drill a small hole to run it through and epoxy the wire on the other side to secure it

bunch of people here used krylon, i sanded/used adhesion promoter and then painted the housing pieces. def want to let it cure for 24 hours cause of the paint, if you re-seal immediately and put back on your car it will fog up

i was able to use the original sealant cause it stayed in the grooves well and resealed with no problem. there are 7 screws that hold the lens onto the housing that you can use to help reseal

the white wires u can see arent from the angel eyes

I think the 5.5 gen does with the halo/angel eyes. Looks more like what the stock beemers headlight assembly look like them, I guess that because they both have the dual circular light sections in the assembly.
