They told me they usually just throw the belt in if you type in the promo code "NEWYEAR". I was a little nervous about this and so I emailed a sales rep at "sales @ stillen . com" and made sure that it would be shipped with the pulley.

Yo. Try #2... Got the bolt off, and got the new pulley on. Ran the engine for few min and no spider web.

I did the install with my buddy again starting at 730pm and finished the job at 830pm. I'll post the DIY later.

Initial thoughts... Awesome! No idle issues. No electronics issues. Acceleration is much quicker. Low end torque is definitely stronger. I can really feel the G forces below 4k now!

This is my second mod. I put the phenolic spacers before Christmas last month. I'm very happy with the mod.

they also have the stillen lip spoiler and roof wing for that deal!. if you buy the lip you get the roof wing for free.. now i am waiting for them to open and give them a call.. because i dont want to order just the lip and get nothing.. that the rreason why im buying it.. same with the pulley.

I was checking out some altima threads and some mentioned experiencing some slight stiffness with their power steering at idle or very low speeds any you guys with stillen pulley experience this?

im actually dealing with something else on my car unrelated and wont be installing any new parts until its resolved. if you're curious what check out my thread "Engine Knock" and please weigh in. fyi this isn't the result of mods, but a front end collision + overheating incident.

Driving it around last night, I did notice some additional stiffness when I was backing into my parking space. I think its from the pulley, but the additional stiffness is not bad.

It's still power steering. Instead of one finger strength you'll need to use four fingers.

I have the UD pulley installed for 100,000 miles

and the pulley itself is fine and i DEF dont have that oil leak a guy posted up with his pic u must of TQ it way to much and broke something..or maybe just the bolt had some oil on it and it spread a little but clean it off see if it comes back....this install u need a TQ wrench u cant just bam unscrew the old one and put the new one and u need to realign it.

the only problem ive had are with these BS $40 belts they fving SUCKKKKKKKKKK im on my 3rd belt im calling stillen right now to complain because like i said im on my 3rd belt they keep getting glazed and start squeaking. I cant believe they selling belts for $40 and they get fvked up so quickly

Before you go about only torqueing to 33lbs/ft, make sure you read VERY carefully! You torque to 33lbs/ft to seat the pulley and then tighten another 90 degrees. I'd hate to see someone only tighten to 33lbs/ft and have that bolt back out on them while driving!

The oil leak was not from over-torque as I followed stillen's instructions and Nissan's (both are the same).

Sounds about right! No need for a new DIY since the collective info on this thread seems like enough.

Ghozt, how do rate the pulley install? Your review on driving experience with the pulley installed?

i didnt have a 200 lb breaker bar so couldnt get the bolt off either. took it to my boy and he installed it for me.

first impressions: the car all-around feels quicker more noticeable in the low end cause the low end on this car is so sluggish normally. no negatives that ive noticed in regards to power steering or AC. the stock pulley was so much heavier than the stillen one, wow, im lovin' this new one.

FWIW, I installed a LW pulley on my 350Z years ago (not Stillen), and after about 2 years the seals around the pulley began to leak oil.

After removing the pulley and replacing with it with the stock one, I noticed deep grooves etched into the sides of the LW pulley. My guess is that vibrations cause friction that wore the aluminum away.

This may not be the case in every car/model, but this was my experience.

I'm having mine installed saturday as well, can't wait for the increased low end performance which has been sluggish even after my stillen exhaust upgrade.

I was talking to my boy about the Stillen UD lightweight pulley and he said (at least on our cars) it is also the harmonic balancer so shouldn't cause any issues.

From the Stillen website:

Each pulley is machined from 6061 aerospace grade billet aluminum with a bold new design to maximize performance, strength and minimum weight. 304 stainless steel sleeves are used for main seal contact points for durability.

So far no issues with AC like Ghozt mentioned. Power steering, maybe a little stiffer but nothing too noticeable. It might be just in my head since i knew about that already. Overall i'm happy with the install as well. I'm going to have my mechanic recheck the belt in a few weeks to possibly re-torque it like the instructions said. Man i'm running out of mods to do, next up some CXJ spacers, install my grounding kit, Kmoney headlight paintjob, maybe tail light tint..not sure about that yet. No shop around here wants to do it.

Stillen sells a shorter belt with the UDP. Smaller diameter pulley needs a shorter length belt.

You bought that component too right?
