Angry Window Regulator and or Motor no good!

Something is causing my drivers front window to close really slow and sometimes not close at all. I don't get how the stupid window motor is so weak already. I tried cleaning in between the rubbers but no go. Never getting a Nissan again, everything feels so cheap. My old $20,000 Jetta felt more solid then this car. End of rant, this POS is going to the dealer this week.

if the motor gets wet, then you will have to replace it. i replaced my window motor in my 07 si. its pretty simple. this car was built well. I just bought my 2011 maxima in october. did you buy a used car? how many miles are on yours? under warranty? max is def built better than a vw.

Yeah I know, we replace them at my shop all the time...ON 15 YEAR OLD CARS! I got it in Janurary brand new, I got somewhere in the park of 8-9k. It's under warranty but I didn't have my Jetta at the dealer once in three years.

Making a judgement on two cars based on your experience having driven only one of each is bad science. The September 2011 issue of Consumer Reports rated the Volkswagen Jetta sedan the lowest of the 12 small sedans they tested.

In 63 1/2 years of driving, the only vehicles I have ever owned that had no problems the first year were four of the seven Maximas I have owned. A fourth Maxima had only one problem the first year. Two of my Maximas had no problems the entire time I owned them (usually four to five years).

I have had many acquaintences over the last forty-some years that drove Volkswagens. I see no need to post their horror stories here. The press and federal safety agencies have done an excellent job of that over the years. Besides, as bad as some VWs are (I lived through the VW 'flambe' era), I know there are VWs that give many years of trouble-free service.

But I stick with odds based on the reports of thousands of vehicle owners, rather than anyone's experience with their particular vehicle. I would encourage other to consider that same approach.

yeah it's strange, a few people on this board definitely seem to have gotten lemons and also have terrible Nissan service departments around them. i dont blame you, if I had constant problems that were never fixed id be furious too. that's more the service departments fault than anything though...the one near me is amazing and my Max is rock solid id have to crash it into a brick wall to get it to stop working

Lightonthehill lemme just start with I got a lot of respect for you, you've helped me out a bunch of times. Anyway this is my 4th Max. 96,04,05,and 11. Each one has felt worse and worse in quality. I agree with all the bull**** that Dubbers have to deal with, I currently have 5 MK4 Jettas at my shop and a Cabrio. I had a MK5 and I believe that was VWs peak and now their cars a falling off again to compete with the Corollas and the Civics of the world. Half of the 6th Gens need trannys. Last year I had to change my fathers Valve Solenoid in the tranny on a car with only 60,000 miles. This thing just looks sexy man.

elMO - I must admit that if I had the troubles you have had with your Maxima, I would be upset. It is almost criminal that so many Nissan dealers cannot fix a problem such as a power window. That is inexcusible. I sympathize with your situation, and am truly sorry you have not been able to have the pleasurable experience the hard-earned money you paid for your Maxima should have brought you. As much as I love my Maxima, I would not blame you for looking somewhere else for your next car.
