09-11 Rear Brace

Hi Everyone

In a relentless effort to provide other mods and parts for the 09-11 maxima CXJ Performance has been able to finally release its rear brace that will tie in the rear supension. This brace will be installed in the trunk location just behind the rear seats. The brace has been designed to reduce body roll and will compliment any spring and strut combo. The brace will include all the hardware needed and comes in your choice of the brace wrapped in BLACK , BLUE , RED , SILVER carbon fiber vinyl.

Below are pictures of it installed in bare painted black.

This brace will only fit the maxima models that have rear folding seats as an option

Below are pictures of the bar courtesy of member Drax89 ( Thank You )

This thread has been created to showcase the brace and answer questions. A purchasing thread with payment options will be located in the sponsor classified section on the site

Thanks

Cory

sick, now the non-sport models can have the same rear brace the sport models get with the non-fold-down seats! if its anything like his other products this will not only be well made but a great investment

Sorry for the late response. I just flew in from being on vacation during the holidays.

The brace will be listed for $94.99

I havent posted a for sale thread just yet because i want to add more design appeal for the brace.color options and a little something extra.
More cost on my end but none to customers.

Ill keep this thread updated with the changes

Thanks

Cory

Are the holes already there for mounting the bar or do they have to be drilled?

I dont see him selling a product where we would have to measure the holes and drill them but im sure he will chime in and tell all the details of the install. When I recieve mine, I am going to try to do a write-up of the installation.

I'm talking about behind the seat, not on the actual brace. I would hope the bar comes with holes

If I remember correctly, the bar bolts to factory stuff, no modification to the car required.

I havent confirmed if the rear brace will fit the version that dont have rear folding seats as i have yet been able to find a tester for this.

The brace will mount to pre drilled factory holes that are already in place. These holes are hidden by carpet tabs that have to be removed. No carpet cutting or drilling will be required. I would never sell a product that a customer would have to do so.

I also have revised the rear brace. Its has been given a make over for looks which i think makes it a much sexier piece now

The bar has been wrapped in black carbon fiber 3d vinyl. I should have gone this way from the start. I am also thinking of adding color options of silver , red , blue , and default black. As these will become special request i ask that you allow a few more days for delivery on the brace. I will always keep in constant contact with my customers so rest assure that your in good hands while doing business with me

heres a update picture. i will release additional install pictures in this thread very soon

Yes, but you gotta manage to get your hand with the nut behind the molded carpet and it can be a real PIA. I don't really see how much of a purpose this actually serves because where it mounts to is very thing metal.

I have to agree this mod alone I highly doubt will give any improvement at all for cornering .
I'm sure rear sway bar, suspension, and stiffer trailing arms etc would only improve handling.

mine is on and if it makes a difference, idk because I installed my Eibachs and FSTB and the Rear Brace all at the same time.

You would only notice a difference in conjuction with the use of the front strut tower brace and a rear sway bar in place.

It doesn't work. It was a good idea, but it doesn't serve any purpose.

it does work, you may not feel it, but it does work...its like saying anytime you add larger wheels, and lower profile tires, your handling wont improve. It does because you have less sidewall flex, same goes for this bar. by adding additional cross member(rear upper bar) you will have LESS body flex..which you may feel or not depending on if you have, all the other required pieces(FSTB, rear sway, Eibachs) and drive aggressive enough to tell the difference... i had one on my 08 and i could tell immediately...take a regular street corner doing close to 35 mph...and let me know it doesnt work..lol, i do it now without it...i have been looking for one..anyone care to part with theirs so i can complete the necessary part of my suspension upgrade...
PM me..

Yes, if you have (FSTB, rear sway, Eibachs) that will help with body roll. This bar does not make a difference.

If this connected from one rear strut tower to the other, yes it would help with body roll. Where this bar attaches to is about 1/16th" sheet metal. I don't care how aggressive you drive, you can't tell the difference with this.

Tell me, when you were younger and you got new sneakers, did you think you could run faster?

being able to tell the difference and making a difference is two different things...
i understand what you saying..however the last 3 bars i had were not attached directly to my struts...and i could tell the difference..
if your old sneakers had no soles and grip, then did new sneakers help improve your ability with grip and traction.....perhaps..perhaps not...but i am telling you from my experience with the bar on and 08 in a similar setup and spot, it did...so until i receive one..and can test it on my 7th gen running same setup as i did on my 08...which i am..it does...
tell me...do you currently still have the one you made?, i would still like to get my hands on on Cory made and test them both...i know the quality of Cory work... if you do and you feel that way about it not working, sell it to me for cheap.....since it doesn't make a difference to you............................ awaiting your PM on your price....

Last edited by Staggered357; Jan 22, 2013 at 07:02 AM. Reason: i edited my post because i am not trying to have a debate...i want a rear strut tower bar to compliment my rear sway bar...

I will sell it to you for $15 shipped if I pull it off my car this weekend.

I could make a few more and sell them at a fraction of the price as his, but I'm not gonna steal someones idea to make a few bucks.

I am however in the process of making a front strut bar.

No offense but if you want to be on the topic of useless mods the front strut bar is worthless. Trace the strut tower with your hand to the back of the engine bay and you'll find that the strut towers are already braced with metal about a half foot behind where the strut bar mounts. I took off my RL strut bar over a year ago and it's sat in the garage cause I never noticed the difference.

Can't speak on this rear brace mod; I have the sport model with no fold-down seats.
