The head unit. The thing you put a cd in. There are logos on it, it should say CD, DVD you get the idea.

I tried playing a DVD through the inputs from a portable DVD and still would not work. I would get an annoying buzzing from the speakers. I have a 2011 with Premium w/Tech non navi. I was told by the dealer it would play video through the inputs if the parking brake was on...

Any thoughts?

Are you using the correct inputs? Double check. Oh, and just because a dealer says something doesn't make it so.

yeah parking brake has to be on. there's a bypass you can do that lets you run it all the time, theres a thread on here about it. theres even a secret config mode you can go into (at least on Infiniti's) that you can do things like turn the reverse cam on while driving, couple other random things

Does this bypass cost you anything like many do and a lot for some wiring changes, or is it snip a wire an BAMMM watch movies while driving????

Oh believe me, I know that. I knew more about the car than the salesman. I read the manual but it is unclear. I figured a portable DVD player or a playstation would work vie the inputs... parking brake applies and would choose aux and it wouldnt show any video... Confused...

no, but if i have something plugged into the RCA inputs in the center console it gives me that message that the vehicle must be stopped or whatever and I need to engage the parking brake before it will display any video feed on the screen.

definitely shouldn't do that. make sure you know how to reproduce the error and take it to Nissan and show them
