Wipers

Has anyone else had issues with their wipers on the Maxima? the sock wipers i have don't work well, had them replaced at no cost and still leave a line when they wipe. I don't want to have to buy wipers if i don't have to you know. I like the way these wipers look with the car.

Make sure there's nothing caught between the blades and the windshield. That can cause streaking.

I have a similar issue but mine might need replacing soon.. Are they just inserts that you buy and replace or do you replace the while thing?

I don't have a problem with my stock blades either. I make sure I clean them whenever I wash the car and I always throw some carnauba wax on the windshield. Rain-X my @$$!

Yep, same wiper issue with my 2010. As with the cheap a$$ stock battery they installed I didn't waste my time going back to the dealer for these things. I just went and replaced them with better aftermarket parts.
I love my Max to death but these are just the things that keep Nissan from achieving Toyota's level of quality/reliability.

do a search on here. There is a great thread on the wipers. I just got refills from the dealer, very easy to do and like 20 bucks or so for both. The biggest problem with wipers is that people generally don't clean them or their windshields very well. Not saying that this is your issue, just an observation.

When was the last time you washed your car? By hand???? When was the last time that you washed your wipers/windshield, by hand?

Get a set of Bosch Icon wipers. The stock wipers on my 09 sucked. The Bosch Icons ROCK! Yeah, they are expensive but doesn;t your max deserve the best?

Still running with my stock '09 wipers, which work silently and well. I think having the Max in my climate-controlled garage over 80% of the time takes the temperature swings and destructive rays of the hot south Georgia sun out of the equation. Also, we tend to use one of the trucks if the weather is inclement, keeping the Maxima clean. My Maxima is like a spoiled child. My wife wishes I took care of her so carefully.

I had this problem with the wipers from day 1 pretty much, the dealer replaced them at no cost, seemed to be fine, now it's happening again. I don't wash my car by hand, i did try cleaning the windshield and the wipers, but no luck

I had a set of those for my pathfinder, just felt that i shouldn't have to replace my wipers at my cost already, when i haven't had the car for a year yet, but maybe i will have to

Well the dealer looked at my front window and said the small chips that i have in the glass would do that, it made sense, but i had chips in my window on other cars i had and didn't have this problem. I'm not sure I want to have the window replaced.

I got them under warranty when they replaced them for me the first time, now the problem appears to be the nicks in the front windshield

Did you replace just the rubber refill or the whole wiper arm? I bought refills thinking I could keep the arm with the cover, but can't figure out how to remove the aerodynamic black rubber covers.

I paid for the refills and the dealership installed for free while I was there for service. The arm doesn't need replacing..
