I've already had two folks confuse my car with a Camry. If that level of difference is inadequate, this Altima might as well be the same car. I'm a little annoyed with Nissan about it, they could have gone another way.
The latest pic showing the rear quarter/rear, it is very 7th "genish".

I like the new grille better than the old one. And it was high time to ditch the 'turbo' style taillights which have been on the Altima for ages.
If we simply close our mind to the widely divergent colors Nissan uses to discourage folks from being able to fully visualize the new style, I find the overall effect rather nice. It isn't quite 'Maxima nice', but will be about right for a family car that dealers let go for prices between around $16,995 and around $29,995.
Those hoping for a manual version don't seem to understand the world is no longer flat. Manual trannies are now the least fuel efficient of all tranny types, and fleet fuel efficiency averages have to reach 55 MPG by 2025. We will definitely see some type of hybrid available on the high-volume Altima line. I would love to see a fuel-efficient diesel available, but that probably won't happen on the Altima.
Unlike some here, I think this new Altima will sell very well.
It sure does and I agree, it will sell well. The current one in its 6th yr is still at number 2 in the "bread and Butter" mid size sedan in sales. I can see why, its affordable and drives with a sporty flair unlike most of them, Mazda 6 also has that flair.
I think the NEW Altima does have some features from the M, specially the lines down the side of the vehicle. IMO, it doesnt really look like the maxima. So far it looks pretty nice. Everytime a new vehicle comes out, everyone talks negative about it. Damn, car companies cant please everyone. At least give it sometime to grow on you. I think the new Altima will sell well as all the previous gens have
