Can't wait to start putting this bad boy on when I get off work this morning.

One impressive thing about this exhaust was the wrapping job they did. It was very secure, but was SOO easy to get the 5 layers of wrapping off. Someone took some time to figure this part out.

Quality...it's gorgeous. Smooth, flawless welds. Comes with all new bolts and gaskets. Only one connection has a tension band....the rest are flanges.

Look for a youtube video when I get it on.

Late,
Trav

It's the Megan Racing catback exhaust. It was like ~$750 after shipping. It is, to my knowledge, one of only three available cabtack exhausts.

They look great, make sure you do some pass bys in the video! I'm still on the fence about these, that may be the selling point.

ooooo I like.... Nice and congrats on your Megan exhaust man. Do you have a CAI installed and can you do a video with a fly-by without silencers? I'm curious

So, it's been windy as all get-out since I installed it and then it snowed a**hole deep to an elephant last night....so no flyby's for a couple days. So, at this point, the Megan Racing CBE recieves a grade of B- from me right now.

1 - installation gets an A+. This is partly because Nissan made the exhaust system VERY easy to work on. Only 5 hangers and 6 bolts to completely remove and reinstall the exhaust

2 - Finish gets an A+. It's obviously a high quality system with clean welds. No complaints here.

3 - Sound is an A. Honestly, it's a little loud...even with silencers. The silencers are a nice touch by Megan Racing. It takes 5 minutes to install or remove them. The silencers make a difference in volume and tone. With them in, the exhaust has that tone I think most people are looking for. Deep and mellow. Without them, it's the same except louder. It definitely has presence.

4 - Fitment receives a C. Uhh...the mufflers don't line up right. The jury isn't decided on this right now because I need to get under there and loosen everything up and try to line it up one more time. However, despite doing that several times after installing it, the P/S tailpipe sits about 1/2" lower and extends about 1/2" further out than the D/S. Doesn't look right.

At $700.00+ item 4 is completely unacceptable. Maybe OK on a old beater pick-up but not on this Max.

I agree...it's more than a little disappointing. Especially since I paid all that $$ for a system that looks like poopoo. LOL.

However, as said, the jury is still out on that. I need to get back under the car and loosen everything up again. It may be my fault. The only thing that I never loosened while attempting to line it all up was the very front of the system. Where the front y-pipe connects to the resonator pipe...I tightened it down and never tried loosening that and retightening. Need to try that. I've already sent an email to Megan Racing support. We'll see what comes of that.

Trav
