Trade for new max?

Been seeing the discounts and 0 finance rates lately, and have been kicking around swapping my 2009 max for a 2012. My 09 has only 18k miles on it, and I'm getting trade offers in mail from other car places, good numbers. i wonder if i went back to the same dealer and went for a loaded 2012 if i could pull off a good deal. What do you think? i think since i don't need a car i might be in a good position to get a deal. i have about 1 year left on the loan, so id have a good down payment if they give me a good trade value. since day 1 i questioned not getting the exact color and options i wanted, so this could be a good time to go in and get upgraded.

In my experience of buying and selling cars, I always, by far, got the best for my money by selling the car yourself instead of trading it in. When I bought my 2009 SV sport I sold my 2000 GLE for $2100 more than the dealer was going to give on a trade in. I had the car detailed inside and out and it was sold in 3 days. Use cash to buy the new car, preferably at the end of the month, negotiate your best offer with cash back, discounts, rebates or whatever then lower the price more, show them the 100 dollar bills, take it or leave it, most of them wll take it before you get to the door. If they don't go to the next dealer. Like you said you don't really need a car so you are entirely in the drivers seat.

Why trade for the same car??? just more options, thats just plain crazy. Also the 8th gen maxima is not too far away, maybe a couple of years.

If I were you, just keep it and mod it. My uncle had a 2008 Tahoe fully loaded and he now has the 2012 model fully loaded. There was not much of a difference except it smells new and the new optional 22 inch rims ....Well there are rumors that there might be a Maxima coupe available so if that comes out, get that.

Well said & really much has not changed on the SV sport at all, and you have low miles......
