Maxima is gone
Well guys it was fun I spent a year trying to find parts that would actually makethis car a sports car. Mission FAILED. It just didn't happen, I love the car and respect what it offers but it is not what I was looking for out of a sports car lol. I have just purchased the Lords gift to sports cars the new Mustang 5.0 6 speed and holy **** does that thing haul ***. In all fairness i am not comparing the 2 cars and my intentions are to go find a 5th gen highly customizable maxima as a daily driver. but in the mean time good luck and for maximas sake I hope they make an awd 6 speed some day.
^LOL
But in all seriousness, he has good intentions
"In all fairness i am not comparing the 2 cars and my intentions are to go find a 5th gen highly customizable maxima as a daily driver."
AND the new 5.0 IS a pretty sweet car

I guess the Nissan ,marketing gotcha "4DSC"...hehe, no way the Max is a sports car and never has been. Its a FWD semi luxurious car with sporty intentions but not a sports car, good luck with your Stang and finding what I'm sure is 5.5 gen 6spd based on what you like!
Yeah the new 5.0 and the Max are two different leagues, the new 5.0's have great motors and tons and tons of modding options so if you want a great track car that's your bet. The Max is definitely no sports car, just a sport luxury sedan that some of us like to make faster than stock. At least for me, my intention never was to try to build a 10 second car with this, just have a sexy fast comfortable daily driver. But like any modder I will do everything I can to yoke every HP out of this VQ
I liked my Max and the problem is the trans. You can keep pushing the horses higher and higher but at the end ofthe day with no torque converter and a better 60ft time the 1/4 will never be there. I was also able to get into the mustang for the same per month and no money down and now I have a 12.8 second car before 1 mod lol
lol

I have a few friends with the 5.0, great cars. But when its time for us to hit up the twisties, that when my G or the Altima will be right on their asses. But on the straights, My altima can barely keep up, and the G....Well, at least it gave it a try
Congrats on being a fellow 5.0GT owner. Love mine- fast, huge aftermarket and continually bangs out fast lap time on the road course with high degree of reliability. Advantage me tho - I get to have both
My Maxima for commuting and the 2011 Stang GT for track days.....
Stang with a little bit of research you can hit 1.0+G's in the handling dept for less @$1500 if you bought a Brembo equipped car. According to my AIM datalogger with Nitto NT05's (285/30/19 on all 4 corners) Last track outing at NJ Motorsports Park on thunderbolt I hit the turns with consistent readings above 1.05G for all but the earliest AM session. This would be me running some hot laps at NJMP with a friend and his 2012 Boss that had 1100miles on it. Stuck behind the BoxsterS until the next straight...For comparison sake - my Eibach Maxima is 13 secs slower per lap than the Stang the CVT kills it...

Join us over on NJStangers.org - the largest NJ based Mustang club with a bunch of great folks that love their cars and are very nice to hang out with. Very, very much like here
My Kona Blue GT has some minor engine and cooling mods for track duty and puts down 422Hp+401lb/ft tq at the rear wheels.....with the 3.73's I hit 11.88@121Mph at Englishtown in the qtr and ran out of straight-away at 161Mph at Monticello on the mid straight going into the braking zone....LOVE IT!

Sexy you should put white racing strips in the middle. When I see one with stripes, it easily grabs my attention...
