Stillen CBE with Dynomax 16" race bullet resonator

Just a quick GoPro video I took while waiting for the track to open last Friday. First time I've really been able to tell what it sounds like under full throttle from outside the car.

Stillen SRI, Stillen Mufflers and rear y-pipe, Dynomax 16" race bullet muffler to replace the huge Stillen resonator. Let me know what ya think!

Sounds good man! I really like how it sounded when you first started up and it was idling.

I like how you listened to the female in the video, haha...

"You're in the video. Would you like me to reset it? "
"Yes, please."

Yeah that was my boys girlfriend hahaha. I don't listen very well...

I think the sound I love the most is on the downshifts you get the burble on the overrun

Thanks! What is this "VT" you speak of

I bought the Stillen full cat-back system, and like you, was not satisfied with the sound. Honestly swapping the resonator with this Dynomax race bullet made it sound exactly how I wanted.

Here's the link to the one I bought from Jeg's: http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/24246/10002/-1

Ahhhh man I didn't even check those out! I wanted to keep the Stillen tins to keep cost down, plus they were already a straight-thru design. Honestly though, 62 bucks for the bullet muffler and 60 for install was a cheap and very effective way to get the sound I wanted haha.

So could I just replace my resonator with the dynomax bullet muffler, with my stock exhaust and achieve a nice improvement in sound?

You'd gain some sound, but probably gain some drone since the stock resonator is gigantic.

Yeah man, just swap the resonator for this: http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/24246/10002/-1

Do you have the full Stillen CBE or just the axle-back system?

Thanks! It's a bit louder inside and there is some drone at cruising speeds, but its tolerable. I'm making a 540 mile trip to ZdayZ in May, so I might have a different POV when I get back

Reason I ask is that if you have the full Stillen CBE, you'll definitely want the bullet muffler with the 2.5 inlet and outlet. I think the factory one is like 2.25 inlet/outlet.

Factory from the rear cat to the split is 2 1/2". I put a Magnaflow "tube" muffler in place of my oem resonator and it fit perfectly. At the split the pipe goes down to 2" from the factory. I went up on mine though, so I don't have that problem anymore

Ahhh gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up. Stillen said their full CBE pipe diameters vary from 2.5" to 2.25"... idiots couldn't tell me what section was what width

Well, only reason I know is because I've been under the car so many times trying to get my exhaust "exact"... LOL! I think the 4th or 5th time was a charm
