HIDs question ???

Hello Guys,

I have a 2012 Nissan maxima that came with HIDs from the manufacturer. However, they are not as bright as how I wanted. Do I have to get a whole set of HIDs or can I just change the bulb ?

PLease help me out on this,

Thanks guys

You probably don't have many hours on the bulbs so new ones won't improve the output that much. If you really want to, you just need new D2S bulbs.

Thanks Chris,

So that means that to get it really bright I have to get the whole 8000k set.

Thanks for the info.

No, 8000K will actually be dimmer. The absolute most I'd go would be 5000K which is what I run.

The stock HIDs are 35 watts I believe. Get 55 watt HIDs if you want brighter.

4300k is the stock color. Anything higher will be dimmer, but bluer.

going higher wattage will also distort color so a 8000K would look like a 6000K also a 55 watt have chances of burning out quicker.
but sometimes they last just as long it could go either way but they are brighter my friend has em in his TSX

if you step up to 55 w you have to upgrade the balast too right? Im thinking of just doing the TSX-R retro fit (either kmoney or 180customs) that will make it a sharper and clearer line
