leaking master cylinder

brake light/vdc has been coming on due to low brake fluid levels , i thought the fluid was just low due to the pads being worn. I took it to the local dealer and they said they have been having alot of altimas and now a few maximas with a leaking master cylinder. got it replaced no charge under warrenty. i just thought i would share since i know others have had the same issue and may have just topped off the fluid and thought it was ok .

Man that sucks, but at least it was under warranty. How many miles do you currently have with this issue?

wow that's crazy least its under warranty... My Brake light lit up this past weekend for like 2 seconds when I went under hard acceleration so I am thinking my case is just low brake fluid havent had a chance to look. It hasnt come on again since that one incident Saturday afternoon and I've driven everyday since then. good to know about this though

my max is an 09 with 35900 miles , the problem started a little bit ago when it was cold out but i ignored it as i just thought the fluid was low from brake wear , however after a few weeks the brake light started to come on at ever start and stop no matter how slowly i accelerated . just thought i would share for others that are close to having warrenty run out out with you might want to hae them check this out if you see your brake light on every now and again

sounds good yeah I only have like 23350 or around there on my 09 it hasnt come on that one time on Saturday. I just took a look and the level is a bit above the Min line so maybe under the acceleration I basically floored it that may have done it just shifting the level

If it was leaking from the MC was it visible? Sometimes these leaks are not always seen at the source. Just wondering if you asked the dealer how they determined it Besides a low fluid level? Good info, thanks.
