Hids do not work

Hello, maxima owners,

I recently bought an HID kit 6k from xenon supply. There was no relay...just a standard bulb, ballast and connectors.

I worked on the car today replaced the old bulbs with the HIDs but it did not power up....i tried switching polarity but did not light up...so i quit and reinstalled my old bulb with no problem

Do i need a relay to make it work? do u guys have a relay?

The relay is usually recommended, but not required. I installed an HID kit last month and I did not use the relay harness and its been fine.

Did you try both bulbs and ballast? Maybe one of the ballast/bulbs is bad.

That's weird that they both didn't light up. The only other thing I could think of was to switch the polarity but you already did that. I would definitively contact Xenon Supply to see what they recommend

Good luck

Try testing them directly off the battery. If they work like that then you're doing something wrong during installation. If they still don't work that way, then you've got defective HIDs.

I guess bulbs might be defective. I am sure you will get replacements or your money back. I hope everything works out for you.

I had a similar issue when I connected my new ballasts... My problems was the connection to the oem wiring. At that point there was a little nub or something that prevented the connection to be made properly. It looked like it was fine but took a reasonable amount of force and shaving down the nub to make it work.. Hope it helps...
