What is this?

In the trunk there is a grey pull handle with a metal cable. It's at the top of the trunk all the way towards the front of the car... I cannot tell what happens when I pull it, thoughts?

I had to use that once when the battery died and my jumper cables were in the trunk. I have a sport model so the seats don't fold. You open the armrest hatch and pull the cable to open the trunk. There is a secondary one towards the rear assuming that someone gets stuck in the trunk ...

Oh that's cool, I am surprised they didn't use the yellow glow in the dark one like at the latch.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Its mainly for kidnap victims it's required by law. I think its been required since 2001 because my 2000 car does not have it but the 01 model does.

Children, kidnap victims, spouses locked in trunks, horrible drunken party jokes. Just a safety feature on all "newer" cars.
