Just about what we should have expected (very little). The 2012 was the first year model of the 8 1/2 generation, and Nissan seldom does much with the second year of a half-generation.

There were already eight exterior colors for the Maxima, so I'll have to check and find out which color was dropped to make room for the pearl white.

Interesting that in 2012, Nissan added a 'Limited Edition' package for the 'S', and in 2013, they are adding a 'Value' package for the SV and a 'Monitor' package for the SV Sports option.

I suppose there wasn't much they could add to the SV Premium either year, as it already has everything. I sort of hoped for power folding mirrors, but knew the chances were very slim we see that before the 8th gen.

Grrrrr..... Just got a 2012 Sport-Tech. The 2013 sport is exactly what I was wanting. Only reason I got the Nav/Tech pkg is for the USB port and couldn't find a 2012 with just the Monitor pkg anywhere, plus the cooled seat would have been nice. Oh well that's how it goes. Still love my 2012 Sport-Tech.

One thing I'm confused about is the SV value pack. Did the drop the Bose from the 2013 SV's standard list, b/c the 2012 has Bose and XM standard?

I think the Maxima's trim naming isn't inline with other Nissan's. The S is more like an SV, the SV more like an SL, SV-Sport is like an SR, and the SV-Premium is like an LE.

So after reading all this nothing really changed? All they did is create packages that will probably save u couple hundred bucks vs. getting it all in options and the bose is a standard on SV models wtf???. Oh wait they added a color... lol

Its all fkn marketing gimick to make it seem cool...

Ya didn't add much at all. Wonder if the Pearl White will look more creamy? I like the way the Winter Frost color is very white. Don't like it when they add too much pearl to it so it looks like a dirty white.

Its going to be the same Pearl White thats on the Z, Pearl White paint code QAB. Has slightly more pearl than the Winter Frost and Light I heard that they are just replacing the Winter Frost QX3 with QAB as far as whites are concerned, the other colors no info on.

Nissan hardly ever make any major changes, and alot of times their minor changes are a change for the worse....for example the rear tail lamps and the front grille.

There are no changes besides a paint color added... everything else is marketing...

As for the grill and tail light change on the 2012-2013 I prefer those over the 09-11, not because I own a 2012 but to me its stands out more.

would have known they would have added the cooled front seat to the sport tech for 13 as I got the 12. Miss that from my old truck. And i didn't want the premium to get it bc of the double glass roof and the wood trim.

lets mod the sport/tech seats to do cooling too.

here's a link to the seat. you think its possible to replace the cushions, add whatever wiring is needed, and add the cooling to the seat?

Thumbs down

When will they figure out that more than just the driver might want to go somewhere? The cooled seat is only on the driver's side, the passenger seat is only a 4-way adjuster, and the seatbelts in the back are too short for an adult to use. At this price and size, you'd think Nissan could make their "flagship sedan" available in a comfort/luxury model that is usable in all seats (not just the driver).

If this was marketed as a luxury car then I would agree. But it's a family sedan with a little edge.

I think Nissan feels that the passengers have the option of adjusting the temperature of the car to suit themselves, but if that temperature is not comfortable to the driver, he has the option of using his individual seat controls to make himself comfortable.

As for the rear seatbelts, I know my nephew rode comfortably in the rear seat of my '09 when he weighed 408 pounds. He is 6'3". That was three years ago. He has worked hard with his weight, and is now down to 210. But the rear seatbelts expand out to a waist size over 70 inches. You must be talking about the vertical aspect, over which the options are actually limited, as we don't want the seat belt anchored to the rear roof cage, especially on the version with panorama roof.

Or maybe your rear belts have the same problem mine did when I bought the car new. Once latched, they no longer allowed the person to move. It felt like being in a straight jacket. I had my dealer replace them, and all has been well since.

I'll add that the 4-way adjustment on the front passenger seat irritates me as well. My kid was excited to sit in front for the first time in his life, but he is too short to see well, so I tried to raise the seat height. Nope!
