2010 maxima Headlight allignment
Hi everyone,
I tried doing some research with no luck. One of my headlights aims low and the lights are not balanced. Is there anyway i can adjust the level of the bulb to point it up??
Thanks

You should be able to pull the fender liner out and reach in there with something to reposition the angle of the light. It is in same area as when you are changing the light bulbs out since that is right there behind the big grey plate in the middle.
Be aware that headlights are not supposed to be pointed straight ahead or balanced. Both beams should be aimed very slightly downward. The left beam should be aimed slightly lower than the right, and the right beam should be aimed slightly toward the right. When the lights are dimmed for oncoming traffic, the top part of both beams is blocked, with the left beam blocked to a lower level, and even further blockage on the left edge of the left beam.
I stayed with the specified beam adjustment for the first few few months after buying the car, but grew tired of having oncoming drivers flashing their lights at me when I had already dimmed mine. So I lowered both my beams very slightly below specs, and have had no trouble since.
I had gone through the same process when I bought my new 6th gen Maxima SL.

Would somebody be able to take a picture of how high/low the car headlights should be with an object in front of them (to serve as point of reference)? I feel like my car headlights are pointed too low, but it's hard to know for sure.
Also, I've been seeing Corner Light LED's in people's 7th gen Maximas -- see attached picture. Is that what they are called? Do these corner lights do a good job of illuminating corners of a road? I am having trouble turning onto dark roads because it's too dark. The HIDs only point straight...they barely illuminate the sides making it hard to turn onto a dark road.
Side/related topic: I recently drove a 2012 Volkswagon CC. They have this feature where if you turn on your blinker, there's a lamp that turns on and illuminates the entire side of the road (which I found to be REALLY helpful). Does anyone know if a feature like this is possible with the Maxima?

Also, I wonder if my visibility issues are also partly due to the Gauge Cluste rlights being set to "Max Brightness." I've turned it down but my headlights still seem dim and/or pointed incorrectly. It also doesn't help my aforementioned issue with seeing side roads when turning.
I wish there was also a way to tell if I have stock HIDs (at 4300k) or if my HIDs are in the 6000k range. I bought the car used, so I obviously don't know the bulb changing history. The color has a light blue tinge and has a purple cutoff line. My stock fogs give off a yellow color temperature that definitely clashes with the HIDs.
Interesting - good to know! Is it easy to tweak the alignment, per the previous posts? It seems to be...just nervous since I'm not handy with cars.

Ah, so am I correct to understand that stock HID's (at 4300k) don't have that purple cutoff line, and that they distinctly look yellow-white'ish? If so, very good to know!
When I first turn the headlights on, it's SUPER blue but then after the "warmup period," it becomes the light'ish blue tinge that I was mentioning before. At close distances (e.g. in front of my garage), the HIDs shine nicely. However, the range seems poor when I'm actually on the road (which is what led me to research into alignment issues and/or crappy bulbs).
