Can someone please answer this for me?

Hey there everyone, haven't been on is quite some time. I've posted about this some time back but couldn't get an answer. I decided to Plasti-Dip my door handles, and the back door handles were no problem at all.. My issue came with the front door handles, I was able to pop off the main part, but couldn't pop off the smaller cap where they key goes into. My other issue is upon putting the cap back on, my lock button isn't sitting in right and the cap part of the handle isn't snapping back in all the way. It feels kind of loose, was there some sort of adhesive added that I pulled off or something? Anything at this point would help, thanks.

I haven't done this myself, but you might want to reference the repair manual.

Look at section DLK, around page 225. I was gonna try a plastidip run on my handles as well (or eventually vinyl wrap) but was most likely going to just tape around and spray.

For those who are curious how the handles look like when they are plasti-dipped, here it is... Not my Max but I know somebody who did it on the 7th gen Facebook group...

I used vinyl wrap for mine, it was pretty easy and it cost like 15 bucks.

looks good to. U get a gloss black finish rather than a matt finish.

Can you post pictures of your vinyl wrapped handles? Those plastidipped ones look awesome though, I just still can't believe it all completely comes off
