2009 Maxima Engine Clicking Noise Before Starting

So recently I have been noticing that when I go to start my car it makes that cranking ugly clicking noise for a second or two before it starts up. Some times it wont even start and I have to try it again. Anyone ever have this problem? Im assuming its a low battery, once I get home Im going to test it.

Still sounds like the battery to me, especially if it is the stock Nissan battery. What I would do is go to one of your local auto parts stores and have them check your battery, most if not all will do it for free.

How do I know if it is the factory stock battery? I bought the car used this past spring. Also, any new battery suggestions?

Go a look at it. If it's black, smallish in size, it's probably the stock battery.
Anything aftermarket will indicate as such by name.
A lot of different people here like different brands of battery's.
I went with the Interstate Mega-tron and love it.

Just go get it tested before you do anything.
