Wheel Locks...Gorilla?
Wheel Locks...Gorilla?
Has anyone tried the gorilla wheel locks yet on their 7th gen? My car didn't come with any and just to keep honest people honest
I thought about just getting the OEM locks but I like to be different and make a thief 2nd guess.

I went down this road. Do you have 18 or 19 inch rims?
It may matter. If 19", you can't get the really cool gorilla locks that have the soothe over cover. You have to get the simple plain ones. I didn't like them much, so I decided to go oem. I saved half by going ebay.
There are threads about the 19s.

I wished I searched harder then, instead of just searching quickly and then stabbing the dark by getting the wrong ones first.
I see that you have 18in wheels; I have the 2012 19inch Sport. (I still have no idea what they are called, Rays is what I keep seeing around, but I'm not sure). The 19in wheels do not accept the Acorn Style 61621 Gorilla Guards, and the Mag Style 63621 are currently in the mail, so I cannot say.
Anyways, back on topic, I suggest you carefully measure, check the clearance area, and check what type of lug nut seating you have for the wheels. Check both the wheel and the lug nut itself, as I made the mistake of just looking at the lug nut itself, not knowing that there are more than one style of lug nuts.
Good Luck.

If the 18" rims take standard acorn style lug nuts, definately get the Gorilla Guard with the outer sleeve:

I however can't get that style because I have the 19" rims. The best I can do with Gorilla is this style,

and for me, I didn't like it enough to accept the dimensional differences between these Gorillas and the OEM lug nuts. So I went with the OEM locks which are almost identical to the OEM lug nuts.

I might actually go with those Gorillas. I have a '12 and I took one lug off and it looks just like that. Or I might just gave and get OEM.
These are the lug nuts I need for my 19" rims:
And I thought the 18" rims used the acorn style like this:

I could be mistaken about the 18" lug nuts as I don't have the 18" rims, and quite frankly, I never did any research at all on them. I just assumed they were different based on the research I had done. It was implied that the 18 and 19 inch rims used different styles of lug nuts in all the material I went over.
