Traded 2010 for a 2012
Traded 2010 for a 2012
I traded a 2010 SV with Cold Package for a 2012 SV with Sports and Tech Package. Really like the options. The car rides and handles alot better with
19s. Just a note i like a firm ride.

Congrats. I considered picking up a 2012 or 2013 since my lease was up on my 2010 but I just did not want the same car again. My 2010 was a SV Sport + Tech. All of the gadgets are nice. I am sure you will enjoy the car. Fortunately I moved on before I had to put new tires on those 19" wheels since I did not like the prices I was seeing for new ones. I just am not sure how I managed to get 36,000 miles out of them with plenty of tread left while others are getting drastically different results. All I ever did was drive normally and rotate them regularly.
Thanks. Coming from basically a base model to sport and tech pack its like a different car. I understand if i had sport and tech on my 2010 no way i would have traded it. Im curious what do you have now.
Test drove the G37 before buying the Maxima, did not think it was worth the extra cost especially with the Nissan $4,000 rebate. If I had to drive in snow I would have gotten the G37X with AWD.
i almost traded my 2010 max for the G37 IPL... Im glad i didnt. its no room in their, my Max runs just as hard now that its modded... plus im komfortable..

Does anyone know when the next gen maxi comes out? Theyjust did their mid cycle update.I had a 2010 sv then upgraded to a 11 with sport and tech package. Have to say it has a sportier feel to it.Love all the extras too.
As you said, the 2012 was the mid-cycle update. The 8th gen will arrive in spring of 2014 as the 2015 model.
Have to admit I've been running numbers on trading my 2009 SV Sport for a fully loaded 2013 Sport Tech etc but I don't see many on my dealer lot, and I like incentives like 0% finance, without that I'm not sure. I just have a solid trade offer from the dealer which has me thinking about it. (only 21,500 miles on my 2009 max now)

Unless the '13 has the new 84 month 700 cold cranking amp Nissan battery, then there are no major changes between the '12 and '13.
The '12 was the 'half-gen', and included what should be the last significant changes for the 7th gen.
The 2014 Maxima will also have no significant changes, because it will be a 'short model year', in that the assembly line will be converted around January 2014 to producing the 8th gen 2015, arriving at dealers in spring of 2014.

What all changed between 2011 and 2012?

What pricing are people getting on a loaded maxima when they take the 0%?
I realize that, thing is I really wanted the tech, and bought one without it, so gives me another reason to swap. Again if the trade value is what they say it is, im tempted.
i really want the jeep SRT8 suv, but for 60k its outta my reach by far, so i figured a swap for a new max w more options makes sense..these cars hold resale value real well apparently.

Its a great SUV and I was looking forward to the 2012 version which is redone...but problem is MSRP is 63,000 loaded, and selling at 58000 at the moment is wayyy out of my reach especially without 0% finance option. Even with 0% and a GREAT trade in for the max its still very expensive car, not to mention 13mpg or whatever that hemi gets. I'd love to own it, and if it stuck around the 48,000 msrp of the previous gen selling at 43-44k, i could have stretched it, but now that they added 15 grand forget it. Cause as nice as it is, its still a Jeep, and the residual values are TERRIBLE. I think thats a car you risk being upside down on quick if you finance it, even with a 20k trade.
