Hey guys,
When I bought my 09 Maxima there were these weird stains/dirt marks on the inside glass of the gauges. I took pictures as best as I could but can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to get inside of there and clean it off? The help would be much appreciated! Thanks

you can remove a couple dash trim pieces and get the cluster out. the plastic cover on the cluster pops off and you can clean behind it. the question is, like the other guy mentioned, did someone else open this up before? thats the only way crap would get in there

Looks like someone has got Armor All or something like that on the lens. That will stain the lens also. Did it to a truck I used to drive accidentally.
No I didnt buy the car new so maybe someone else has gotten in there. Yea Im gonna have to make sure that it not armor all or something. Is it difficult to take the trim pieces off and get behind the cluster?

Make sure you use a high quality microfiber towel on the glass! I love Invisible Glass...it works very well for me.

difficult no, but you do have to do it in a certain order (take off side trim piece that you can only see when doors open first, this gives access to removing the rest). when you get the main dash piece off its a few screws and you can pull the instrument cluster forward, then disconnect it from behind. definitely try cleaning off the front of it first, you can use Plast-X which is great for removing garbage from plastic. if you need to get in there though to clean the inside it isnt terribly complex, hit me up if you need some helpOriginally Posted by MK33
