I just picked up a 2012 Maxima with OEM HIDs and I love it! The output was awesome but I missed the sharp cutoff on my Mazda 3 with with clear lenses and MH1s. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah it really is amazing. And with a custom curved shield, the output can be even more amazing with a sharp cutoff line all the way across and no bowing on the sides

Yeah I already considered that but for now I want to use the aluminum flashing I have and if no luck, I'll buy the MH1s, use those shields and turn the MH1s into fog lights. Right now I'm trying to work on these and my cousins BMW E30 retro.

Haha I feel you. Removing the bumper on this car isn't as easy my Mazda 3. And the torx screws are sometimes a pain to get to.

WOW I need to get my hands on these. At $40 a piece on the lens plus S+H, that's a pretty awesome deal and the results are worth every penny. You convinced me to get these. I'm about to order them and make this into a winter project.

My father has one also.. the Premium package White Diamond.. it's a 2008 model with some engine mods. Great trucks and head turners for sure

Yup and some #8 washers if you want more color but I mean these are waaaaay colorful already. Oh and aluminum foil tape! To block the squirrel finders

Nah it's a 2013 Premium edition. Platinum was too much more for what it really was. Plus, the LED headlights suck compared to HID. Oh and the Escalade is my dad's too. I still live with them I'm only 19

This does look awesome, but this isn't exactly a how-to...

There's been mention of foil tape and washers. What are the purpose of these items, where should they be installed? Also, does anything besides just swapping these lenses out need to happen? Does any modification need to happen to the shield?

Well I didn't use washers but I mentioned them for anyone else doing this. It's a very simple and self-explanatory how to. Once you open the headlights you'll see what needs to be done. Remove the projector and swap out the lens. The lens comes out by pushing the black tabs that hold the original lens. The tape was used to block the squirrel finders. It's an opening in the cutoff shield to allow a little bit of light above the cutoff but I personally don't like it so I covered it. You could sand the shield down a little bit because its a little grainy but not necessary. I'm going to mod the shield for a sharper cutoff and I will post that on the second post of this thread and I'll get better pictures of taking the projector out and stuff.

You might have to because they way they are aimed from the factory, you can really notice if they aren't exactly matching since they are blurry. Once they are sharp, you can notice unevenness.

Seeing as how the OP, acdna, was last active about a year ago I think you should set your expectations pretty low with regard to this request.

Also it's probably a relatively moot point since the link for the product in OP is throwing a 404 error now.

You can catch him on HIDPlanet, but he does have a Lancer now, not sure if he sold the Maxima for it or not.

But the process for it is pretty straight forward if you've baked your headlights open before. But the only thing to really watch out for is the clips holding the lens in place, they tend to break somewhat easier than expected once they've cooled down.
