Premature Rust on Rear Calipers?

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed premature rust on there rear brake calipers, Mine are covered with rust pretty bad, just wondering if anyone has brought this issue up with the dealership? Sorry I got about 65K on mine, bought it when it had 31K and noticed it then too but never said anything about it, lol

Yeah I got the G2 paint all ready but not sure if I want to spend the time to clean up the rear calipers, I might just get reman calipers for the rears and work with the fronts, not paintint till spring time.

If you are going through the hassle of taking them off just clean what you already own. it isn't hard at all to clean a caliper once it is off a car.

agreed. and you dont even need to take them completely off the car. when i did mine i just took off the wheels, used a wire metal crush all over everything, taped off any piece of rubber in the general area, and used the G2 brush-on kit and its not a glass-smooth finish like a nice spray coat would do but it looks great and has lasted way longer than my Duracolor caliper paint kit I did last year.

+1. You can also wait for it to dry and then put on nissan nismo etc. vinyl letter stickers you can order online and then clear coat over them. Makes it look like an aftermarket caliper or at least a 'nice' caliper.

So it looks like this:

or

It only takes another 10m per caliper(not including waiting for the coats of clear to dry)

The clear protects the letters and the paint and gives it that deep shiny look. The clear is also alot easier to clean off brake dust vs. just paint. If you are going through the hassle of cleaning/painting I highly recommend the lettering. It really adds something imo.

yep, mine looked like crap when I did rear brakes earlier this fall. Mine also only has 55k. Bought G2 kit long ago, but still have not had time to apply it. Now I dread having to clean them before applying the paint.
