Thumbs up Racingline FSTB question??

Hi guys,

Does anyone have the racingline strut bar with the cxj spacers installed? I'm just curious if there's any clearance issues with this combo. I tried doing a search but didn't see anything. Racingline emailed me and said it was fit but I just wanna make sure. Thanks in advance.

it wont clear. you'll need washers to space out the strut tower bolts and possibly slightly longer strut tower bolts. Stillen's clears.

The Racingline bar is thinner than the stillen bar. It's wider but thinner. If the stillen clears then the racingline will clear as well with room to spare

we're not talking about width. we're talking about the height the bar sits above the intake manifold... i have the CXJ spacers and the RL strut bar does NOT fit. sorry.

I'll have to disagree on this one. I have the CXJ Spacers and the Racingline Strut bar..and it fits for me. Now, this is interesting...The black covers won't work with this strut bar though. Have to drill a section out.

the strut bar doesnt even go over the part of the engine that has engine covers. it goes over the part that isn't covered, the rear of the intake manifold...sigh...you're talking about the side pieces which has nothing to do with this.

if you want i can go get a pic showing that the RL strut bar clearly does not fit if you guys seriously dont believe me. unless RL changed the design of their strut bar or Nissan changed the design of their intake manifold on newer Maximas it doesnt fit - sorry. here's a pic of my old engine bay when i had the RL strut bar before I installed CXJ's prototype intake spacers and wrote the installation instructions for Cory. (please keep comments of the ricer superman red bay at a minimum lol)

notice where the RL strut bar passes over. if you have the RL strut bar and do not have the CXJ spacers you'll notice a very small gap between the top of the intake manifold and the strut bar itself. when you install the CXJ spacers it raises the intake manifold 3/8 of an inch which prevents the RL strut bar from being installed - simply put you can bolt one side of the strut bar to it's strut tower bracket but unless you're somehow being a dumbass bending your strut bar it wont fit to reach the bolt on the other side.

its not like I work for Stillen or anything. it just simply doesn't fit. if you want to buy one and try it anyway feel free. it will fit if you space out the strut tower brackets with some washers and longer strut tower bolts. either way, Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the pic. That really does help. So do you NOT have a fstb currently installed?

Hey, if you could post a shot of your engine bay just to show the clearance that would be helpful thanks. I really prefer the look of the racing line rather than the stillen.
