Howdy ya'll. 2011 Max SV

Little background..I drove a 2005 Nissan Altima for the past 5 years and had ZERO mechanical problems. So I figured I would stick with Nissan since I had such good luck with my Altima (knock on woodgrain).

Anyways about a week ago I was going down the highway at about 11:30 at night when a deer decided to jump out in front of me and ended up totalling my Altima.

Now the fun part is I decided to take the insurance money and upgrade to the 2011 Maxima SV package. The car was pretty much brand new and only had 15k miles.

My questions to you all is I chose to get the 7-year/100,000 extended warrenty and with my past cars I've always had aftermarket subwoofers and component speakers, will installing this void my warrenty on the electrical?

Also, I had 20's on my Altima and it left a terrible gap on the front wheels. Does anyone know if the Maxima's have this same problem if you add aftermarket/bigger wheels?

Thanks for your time.

Congrats and welcome to the Maxima family!

As far as your questions go - a sub-woofer should not void your warranty but if your dealer tries to use it as the cause of the issue and void your warranty - they would have to show proof that it was indeed that. Most likely its not going to happen. I know couple of cats here who have sub-woofers and are not having any issues.

As far as the wheels - you will have the same issue - in order to resolve that you'll want to throw on a set of eibach springs

Congrats on the new car. Half a year ago or so I bought the same kinda thing--'11 SV with premium and tech, 15k miles. Been loving it. Happy everyday with my purchase.

As far as mods go I'll probably put most of my extra money into a nice sounding SQ system. Then after that I might throw some black shoe's on her and maybe some lowering springs.
