Need help!

I have a 2010 Maxima...had an accident...was told i had cracked my radiator...my insurance wouldnt cover the damage...so now im stuck having to pay for the damage. Anyway just trying to get some helpful info...like if i buy all the necessary parts and just get a mechanic to fix the radiator and then pay for it to get painted. If i get the shop to do it all versus only the labor...what would be the difference in cost??? Please help me.

You should look into a new insurance company. Unless it was your fault and the damage was less than your deductible.

If you have an accident, you are covered (minus deductible) this is why there is a thing known as insurance.

Sorry to hear about the accident, hopefully no one was hurt.

What kind of accident? Who was found at fault?

If someone else was at fault, you don't even have to go through your insurance (in Massachusetts anyway). You can go through the other person's insurance, as long as you have their info.

If you were at fault, hopefully you have collision coverage. Given that it's a 2010 and you likely still owe money on it (though this is an assumption) there's no reason you shouldn't have collision.

Either way, your insurance company sounds like a piece of crap. After this is all said and done I would seriously consider changing companies.

Others will likely have better advice than I in terms of repairing it yourself. But I'd start calling around to auto-part wearhouses and getting quotes for the parts you need. Get multiple quotes and you can start negotiating the prices down.

edit: oh ... and I'd reread your auto policy
