So this happened the other day
So this happened the other day

At the local hand car wash joint getting the grime off earlier in the week when I hear this demon rev up and come out the other end.
If you havent seen one of these things close up by now do yourself a favor and find one. It just sounded mean.
try standing next to one thats putting out more than 800 with quad 4" exhaust. this was last night at our car club meet
from left to right:
GTR (800+HP lots of bolt-ons and tune), M5 (no dyno lots of bolt-ons and tune), GTR (no dyno, but lots of mods), Z (he just wanted to be in the picture lol), GTR (stock brand new had temp tags still)
the guy with the M5 was talkin about how he had some headers he was lookin at that add 50 HP to the wheels direct bolt-on. i sat there and shook my head as i realized thats probably roughly what all my mods + tune netted me. damn platform.

I got the chance to drive one a while back when we took one in on trade when I was a detailer at a dealership. I'm in sales now and we have a guy who just did the alpha package on his and has a greddy exhaust, that thing is straight mean. His is black but has it vinyl wrapped white and left some black accents, and he just put some new wheels on it. I'll see if I can find a pic.
Edited for pic:

Linked from facebook so I'm not sure if it will show.

(Some) Ferrari's are nice but there's something to be said about the GTR. Think about it like this ...mostly everyone knows what a Ferrari is and what one looks likes.
The same can't be said for a GTR. The majority of people out there would say, it's not that flashy and could be mistaken for other cars on the road. But look closely or better yet, listen closely and you realize very quickly that there's something special about it.
Now, imagine you're on a highway and a red flash blows by you. You're immediate reaction. 'Sweet a Ferrari!' A GTR on the other hand, now you're saying, 'What the hell was that!' While you mash your throttle in futile effort to check it out.
The point is ... there's a 'sleepr-esque' quality about the GTR as a supercar that you don't quite get with other cars of that caliber.
I'd get a Ferrari to park on the street in the middle of the city ... but I'd rather be driving a GTR.
ps. Saw a GTR Black Edition getting on 95S in Walpole a couple months ago. 10 miles down the road he got off the same exit as me and I had a chance to see/hear it take the off ramp much faster than I could. That sealed the deal for me. I will be driving one of these cars in the future.

You're probably right. The average lay person would probably shrug the car off and say "is that car any good?" I've seen very few around here but when I do I always have too smile and point it out. I've seen a red one by work, a green one (yes, green), and a standard fare black/charcoal on the roads.
